What's up with Chile Open??

I mean did you see the entry list? Is there anybody who would travel from another country to see these players compete? What is the reason that
nobody important takes place in it? Because next week the olympic games quali starts? Or is just the price money so low? And what's up with the pro tour points what you can earn in such a tournament? Is a pro tour win not boosting extremely the ranking? Why is not just simply one player like Monteiro going there just to have an easy earned price money? Not even a Nation with young players like hungary is there. Is this tournament known to be bad organized ? What is it???

Simple, Olympic Qualifications have either passed or are coming up (Oceania, Latin America done, North America, Asia and Europe upcoming closely). Olympics is penultimate why would players travel to a Challenge series World Tour event which doesn't usually attract strong competition and risk injury also which could ruin their chance of qualification. It's just too close in the timetable and not usually a major event on the calendar anyway.

I went I think in 2008 and there were so many good players....
ryu seung min, samsonov, chuang chih yuan, he zhi wen, gao ning, achanta, even young freitas and apolonia were there I think.

don't know what happened after that time, good players never went to chile again.
