on september 22 and 29 (both mondays) you can go to Yokohama Budokan. its a huge modern and fantastic venue, which is hosting TT sessions regularly. 700 yens you can play all day anytime from 9;30 to 20;30. highly recommended.

i am coming back to Tokyo on Oct1st so we can maybe play a bit in Minato
You may also have some information about this if you visit the area frequently :)

wow ! I've checked the Yokohama Budokan from their website and the place seems so cool as you said , and only about 20mins from the hotel I live, did you mean on Monday it's free and will charge 700 yen per person on other days? thanks!

Good afternoon) I feel a little awkward asking you, as we don't know each other, but if you have the opportunity, please visit the official Butterfly tennis store in Japan. Last year, they launched a custom-made blade service, but only within Japan. Maybe you can place an order. In any case, any information about whether this service is still working would be very helpful, and I would greatly appreciate it.
Here is a list of Butterfly store addresses where you should be aware of this: https://www.butterfly.co.jp/shop/
its kind of you to give me this info. however im not an EJ, i tend to keep my blade for many many years. and i already have a spare one. as for the rubbers, i dont like to glue myself so i've been always going in-store to Kokusai Takkyu in Shibuya for more than a decade now... almost 2 ?

hello Takkyu:
thank you so much for intruducing this place , this evening me&my wife went there and found many young players from Tokyo&Yokohama school(correct me if i was wrong) and the total level are quite impressive, the place is so nice and almost all the tables were occupied . A 62 years-old local player came to me and we had a match and then a nice coach arranged some of his young players to play against me & my wife correspondingly. it's a really wonderful evening and i feel younger as well :)
btw: are you still planning to train on 1st of Oct?

I was more thinking that since you're in Japan, you could check it out at the store for me) Of course, this was not intended as advice.

No you are welcome.
We are going tomorrow evening (Friday) to Chuo Sports center near Hamacho station from 6pm
Hi @Takkyu_wa_inochi nice to virtually meet you on here. I'm a カットマン player from Washington DC visiting and trying to play on Friday evening January 16 2026. Just wanted to check, it looks like on chuo sports center website they stopped Friday night practice? I'm so sad to see that 😭.

Is there any place I would be able to play for sure without risking the lottery? Last time I tried Minato-ku sports center but found it a bit difficult to talk to people there as most had their practice groups already.

Would love to play a bit if you know any good place! 👍

Minato Sports Center publishes online its schedule 2 days in advance

as for Chuo Sports Center

according to the schedule of the website, on Fridays its TT day in the big hall on B3 (2nd big row)

Friday Jan9th Minato Sports Center is opened till 6pm for TT. I can't tell if it would be the same next week or not. But if you look at the link above you'll have your answer. Else you can phone them

awesome, thanks so much @Takkyu_wa_inochi , I really appreciate your response. I guess what confused me was that if you go to this page https://www.chuo-sports.jp/personal/ , for 1/9/26 it is only showing table tennis in the daytime (昼間①・昼間②). If the PDF you sent me is also applicable for this January, and they do have table tennis in the night time, that would be great!

Hi @Takkyu_wa_inochi . Just wanted to let you know tried going to chuo sports center but they wouldn't let me participate today. The lady said I needed to come in a group and can't pay alone, and then refunded me back the ticket cost. Sad, but I understand if that's the policy.

From what she said, it looks like they mostly only let people come alone on Fridays now.

Yes it’s only on Fridays from 6pm to 9:30pm there
That’s why I recommend people to go to Minato Sports Center instead . It’s open almost every day . For both venues you can double check the schedule a few days in advance (use your favorite google translate app)
