Which poly ball should you choose?

Derek Underwood? Like me, you must be over 60.

Good guess, 65 and counting. Mind you uncovered wickets probably gave it away a bit too ! Nowadays I have the leisure to watch as much cricket as I like, but most of the Championship is played in the worst of the weather. Thankfully Northants usually only need two day's play to lose !

Ball update, 30th June.

Cornilleau - P-Ball ABS Evolution - White - Seamed - Made in China
Kinson - K40+ - White - Seamed - Made in China

Worth noting that several old approvals for balls expired in the 30th June. Mostly celluloid (Gewo have let a plastic one lapse though), and several orange balls have gone now. Orange options are becoming more limited (if you want to stay 100% ITTF legal).

Did anybody try DHS 40+ from this seller?Very cheap
I bought it there ,balls are round and plastic but size is 40mm exact, others are 40,2mm and Bounce is lower than others. Is it fake or original? Is it possible to find out?

Those DHS 40+ seamed plastic balls are the ones our club uses. Yes they are affordable which I won't complain about.

They're great. Everybody at our club likes them. I've seen videos of the Japanese national team practicing with them.

It's the best ball with performance, price & everything considered. Now just enjoy.

Ball update - 2nd March

The notable thing in this update is the imminent removal (30th June 2018) of some older 40+ balls. I still see some of these being used locally at the moment so perhaps worth bearing in mind:

iPong Sphere 40+ (seamless)
Joola Super-P 40+ (seamed)
Kingnik 40+ (seamless)
Kinson 40+ (seamed)
Komann 40+ (seamed)
Peace 40+ (seamed)
Sunflex 40+ (seamed)
Tmount Prime 40+ (seamed)
Xiom Pro Select 40+ (seamed)

A shame about the Kingnik 40+ - a very nice ball and very cheap.

I don't know for certain, but I think it will be hard to know until after June. Then you will see if the Stiga balls are still on the list. Probably the fact that there is an expiry means that Stiga has opted to not renew after June, which is the period for which they are "payed up". The fact that Nittaku has no expiry date indicated suggests that they have informed ITTF that they plan to submit the ball for renewal of the approval.

Guessing on my part, not solid knowledge.

I stumbled upon 1* orange poly balls at a local sports shop today. Donic made in China. I would rate them slightly better compared to the Butterfly 1* 40+ we use at the club where I normally play. Maybe old news but these are the first orange ones I've seen in the flesh. Really hoping to get a hold of 3* orange poly balls.
