Good example of how fluid, easy motion is all you really need. In my experience amateurs try to compensate for lack of fluid motion with a lot of 'explosiveness', ending up in haphazard strokes that are inconsistent at best and injurious at worst.
I think the first thing that's important to master in all strokes is soft fluidity. Power will come by itself afterwards.

All this is theory... post videos of your loops vs chops or reference some advanced player in a video so that we can see what you mean... a lot of people say a lot of stuff but don't want to show what they mean with video.

I would agree with lightzy when he says being fluid is important. You generate and transfer force with loose muscles coordinated in a sequence. Any good player's 60/70/80 percent power shot should look like they are not applying that degree of power, but there are.
