Dima on his loss: "Terrible performance from me, probably the worst of the year. There were so many tournaments, I need vacation and I'm just tired. I didn't manage to bring any energy to the table today."

At asian champs he got the scalp of Kao last week, and WCQ + Shinozuka at Asian champ. Also UDA at WTT Almaty but lost Dima at China Smash. I don't see him with big wins yet against non-Asian players. and apart from WCQ which is a great win, i don't see any great win against top10 players.
I think its quite risky to bet on OH on this one, Hugo has been great and very consistent recently
(iirc bookies offered OH around 3 before the match)
The answer is yes

Is it a hot take to predict an Oh Junsung victory over Hugo here?
I'm just catching up on the games now and ,ahead of watching it, it'd be a surprise but his recent win V WCQ suggests your not crazy!

Wow, Calderano was his free flowing self tonight, great to watch when he's like that. Taught the kid a lesson.
I was impressed with Walther too, hadn't seen him before but he made short work of Robles.
I don't think Quadri will make him look OB player!
On current form I'll name WCQ as my dark horse for the title.
I think he's back with a point to prove

Technically, Gauzy's game has all the elements except speed or quickness which IMHO is the most important attribute for TT. That is why when he plays speed monster Felix he so often is pushed away from the table lobbing or countering, quite a few his stylish plays happen when he is far away.

Similarly, Xu Xin is also one of the slowest players in CNT often gets pushed away from the table doing his cloud walking magic.

Playing with high speed while maintaining certain consistency is the most important factor winning the game of TT. This was true in most of the past, is true at current and will be true in the future. For that reason, I can predict choppers will never reach and stay at the top.

For the same reason, I can explain why Ma Long is the best, because he is the best combo of speed and consistency backed up by his out-of-this-world agility.

Walther and Robles: the antithesis to the need for speed in the modern game

This packed WTT schedule really is rough on the older vets.

Robustness and recovery ability has always been important for consistent performance in all sports, but maybe it shouldn't be such a huge factor in WR.

Everyone is crazy tired.
Huge the tiredness doesn’t lead to more injuries.
WTT year almost done

Did the French head coach care to stop Lebesson from serving so illegally?

WHY DO UMPIRES KEEP HANDS DOWN AND STAY MERCIFUL FOR LEBESSON's TRICKERY.
/Some legal clarifications on the Lebesson's "outraging" serves./

-- Just look into this present Explanation 9.5. It makes a proper excuse for Lebesson to effect his unusual service without being penalized.
This given explanatory 9.5 is teaching as follows:
-- The server may re-think of the type of his/her service and take a different stance for serving.

----------
However, doing such a trick so oftentimes looks an offensive behaviuor by Lebesson anyway.

On my way to Frankfurt now, hyped for my first WTT event. Does anyone happen to know if you can enter with a digital version of the ticket from my phone, or do I have to print it out?

Also, what are you predictions for the RO16?

For todays matches, I am looking forward to Lebrun v AJH, Lin v Qiu, Hirano v Harimoto, Shin v Diaz

My tickets are 'print at home' versions.
As I remember it the 'mobile ticket' option wasn't available when buying, it was only print at home.
However, looking at the ticket it has qr code. If you haven't printed them then maybe they can scan them from a phone the same as a printed page? Not sure

Some people, Adam Bobrow leading them, think Europe is the second continent when it comes to TT. That's completely the opposite, there's way more density in Europe, if you look at the top50, the majority of them play in TTBL1 or Pro A, even some south koreans, chinese or japanese players. Tomo, the ATTC 2024 champion, has been defeated by 2 Pro A players in a row. Just saying.
