Franziska 1-3 QD (8) (7, -5, -8, -8)
Duda, Franziska, Ovtcharov, Stumper have all lost to QD in 2025, other than a win for Ovtcharov. Togami of Germany.
How did he play so bad at Paris 2024, World Cup 2025 and WTTC 2025?

Thankfully, he has an European Championship to his name and a WTT title this year and a strong club record, otherwise, the silliness of using epithets to characterize someone going through waves of form would not be palpably obvious. He didn't play Germans to win those titles.

Samara!!! Man, she's so tenacious under pressure.
Zabet is doing fine this end of the year, even if Romania was beaten by Germany in the ETTTC final. Never underestimate the euro gals, and more than this: never underestimate any romanian guys and gals.

I think most people here think Japan and South Korea are way better than Europe in mens and womens tournaments when China is not there. It's not that obvious, at all !

Odo (4) 2-3 Samara (7, -11, 9, -13, -3)
Putting aside Samara's serve at 12:11 of G4 that looked like a net in slowmo, Odo's beginner's luck is really starting to wane. The issue of her serve (verticality in this case) has finally cost her a match and she has not come up with any remedies 1 year later.

WS R32
Odo (4) 3-2 ZJ (9, -6, 5, -4, 9)
G5 46, 66, 67, 87 TO for ZJ, 88, 108, 109 TO for Odo, 119
It came down to who could save the TO until the very end.

Sh*t happens to anyone in any pro sport, see WCQ last year. See MBappé last year, or Wembanyama now since 2 games in the NBA.

If a pro career in any sport could be that easy, everyone would be a pro. Man, I would still play 43 declared gigs a year in jazz music at 52 if it was that easy :ROFLMAO:

Harimoto (1) 3-1 Winter (7, 9, -13, 7)
54% fan vote for Winter...
G2 106, 109 TO for Harimoto, 119
Winter was hard-countered by those serves to the wide BH. And she didn't even mix it up by serving down-the-line.
G3 47, 67, 68, 88 TO for Winter, 89 dead net for Winter, 109, 1011, 1211, 1212, 1312, 1315
G4 31 down-the-line service ace by Miwa, 71, 74, 84, 86, 96, 97, 117
Harimoto finally served more pure backspin/no spin rather than ones with sidespin.

1W7L against JNT players for Winter in 2025.

HY 0-4 Ito (2) (-3, -5, -6, -7)
No doubt Hashimoto is the better chopper now.

Overall a poor tournament for GER men and women.

Hayata (3) 4-1 Ito (2) (-7, 7, 11, 10, 12)
Intriguing choice of not calling TO in G3 or G4 for Ito. Regardless, her stamina issue was very apparent. Tactics-wise, her game still counters Hayata.

Lind 2-4 Matsushima (-6, 6, 12, -1, -8, -2)
After reaching the SF, Matsushima will enter the top 10 for the first time.

Harimoto (1) 3-4 Hayata (3) (-4, -8, 4, 6, -6, 9, -9)
G5 63, 67 TO for Harimoto, 611
Harimoto missing that BH loopkill at 63 and the timing of TO require a review afterwards.
G6 69, 89 TO for Hayata, 119
G7 63, 64 Harimoto missed the loose ball, 67, 87, 810, 910, 911
Same as in G5.

Not bad for someone struggling to surpass his teammates.
Yeah, right. For someone with all the favoritism from the association.
