Why though? The umpires are (finally) trying to do their job and limit illegal/irregular serves... should they not do it because it's 10-10? Does the score influence the legality of the serve?Shi's serve getting faulted at 10-10 resulting in Qian Tianyi winning the game 12-10. I'm getting angry at these umpires.
Well in that case, that's very good outcome. Next time don't try to cheat.Shi's serve getting faulted at 10-10 resulting in Qian Tianyi winning the game 12-10. I'm getting angry at these umpires.
Well, they play only on one table. It goes slow but players all got undivided attentions. We have gone through 2 days and we haven’t even finished the round of 32.
Compared to the ATTC, the Champions is a holiday outing 😂
The assistant umpire who is out of view made the call and it didn't seem like it was communicated why the call was made and it's obviously a shit situation for that to happen at that moment (from a player's view and that makes me angry). Fraser got told it might have been hair touching the ball. How would you even see that as umpires? Some of these calls seem to be made for the sake of it. If they were really trying to do their job they would need to be waaaay harsher, but I can assure you that would piss players and viewers off and completely disrupt matches. NextLevel might be right and they got told they are being evaluated at this event so they are being stricter for that reason. Why though? Unless obvious or outrageous illegal serves, faulting a player's serve at deuce means the ref decided the game outcome.Shi's serve getting faulted at 10-10 resulting in Qian Tianyi winning the game 12-10. I'm getting angry at these umpires.
Yup and actually faulting a player/awarding the opponent with a point is an extreme choice and would normally happen after multiple warnings yet this is happening every day at this event. Harimoto was never told he is hiding the ball with his head prior to the fault. Yes, the umpire can do that, but one wouldn't usually do it. Something is going on here and it might have started already at the European Championships.Yup.
If they were doing their jobs properly they wouldn't have to make these crappy calls at 10-10. Do it at the beginning of every game and eradicate it early.
Doing it to one player at 10-10 seems like complete bias to me.

the players can heal / restWell, they play only on one table. It goes slow but players all got undivided attentions.
Look, I don't want to start a big discussion here, but it looks to me like you are bending the facts around your narrative... calls were not made out of nowhere and all players were warned for their serves (even though maybe for another particular reason) before being faulted. If the reason Shi's serve was faulted was really because the ball touched her hair, that might also mean the ball was hidden behind her head. That would make the serve illegal and the call correct.Yup and actually faulting a player/awarding the opponent with a point is an extreme choice and would normally happen after multiple warnings yet this is happening every day at this event. In the French League earlier this year or maybe last year, XP and Lebrun had a great 2-3 match where Lebrun came back to win from down 0-2. In XP's upset at China Smash, the result was 4-3 XP. So no result will prove the last time was a "fluke", any winner will be grateful regardless of the score, even a 3-0 win by either player will be a pleasant surprise for whoever gets it. These are both good players destined to battle each other for status when they meet. Your other descriptions are apt.Three interesting revenge matches will be on R16:
Felix vs China's XP, a chance for Felix to prove the last time XP beat him is just a fluke.
Alexis vs. Truls, after swept by Alexis, Truls also needs to prove the last match is not the beginning of a trend.
Harimoto vs. Anton, a good time to revenge a devastating loss in the team competition in last worlds championship.
