Miyu played beautifully against Adriana today to win 3-0. Her serves, connecting strokes, placement, pressure from her BH were excellent.

That's a tough request right now as Joo may be S. Korea's best player right now and is playing really well. Very clean technique. Good power. Miwa can take her down, but Yokoi is going to have to pull off something special down 0-2 now.

Odo vs. Nagasaki is going to be fun to watch. Nagasaki played near perfect vs. Diaz, but Odo has been playing amazing all year. In the past, Nagasaki's anticipation and reaction speed have been a bit suspect, but she has improved that this year. She will need to be on full alert when playing super quick Odo. Nagasaki is also in a race with Kihara for highest world ranking for the Asian Championship spot. Odo has already claimed a spot with her domestic trial win.

It was no fluke that THA defeated IND and PRK to take bronze medal in WT at Asian Games 2022. Highly likely to cause trouble at Paris 2024.

Yeah, the Japanese men are playing really well this tournament. The Japanese women did an all Japan SF at 2024 Contender Zagreb.

Backing Uda to win the whole thing but won’t be mad if Shinozuka or Sora win it, Harimoto already won titles so Id rather see one of his teammates win

Also do we know why Uda has disappeared for so long until recently? Injuries, suspension, league commitments? I was honestly thinking he could’ve made the Olympic team over Shinozuka if he played more in 2023

For G1, Harimoto played and finished with FH much more (as planned?) but Hayata was clearly out of it when Karlsson got up to speed and blocked back shot after shot. Tasei speaking to Hayata only after G1 indicates she was the root cause. From G2 onward, Harimoto cut down on FH usage and reverted to his old game to cover for Hayata. Wouldn't have worked out if Harimoto were off as well.

Tomo/Hayata did what they had to do and win the XD championship. Nonetheless, the 2nd seed at the Olympics is in Lim/Shin pair's hands. If they make the finals of SC Bangkok, the 2nd seed is theirs. If they don't, then Tomo/Hayata have a chance. Lim/Shin have lost to KK/Kallberg earlier this year so there's a chance.

Nagasaki's problem still persists. The habit of hitting off-the-bounce even when she is off only aggravates the problem but she just keeps at it. Let the ball drop some more, slow down the pace a little, add a little more spin and the match could've changed in her favor. As I noted over at MyTT in 2022 (again, lost forever), she has the reach and physical advantage to play a little more away from table.

S.ODO absolutely trashed NAGASAKI.
she's on another level.
her FH attacks are sudden and powerful. it's an instant no-touch winner.
so much domination.

and when the opponent attacks she's not even blocking most of the time, its an agressive counter, even when in a difficult position.

Satsuki Odo takes out Nagasaki 3-1. Her game is just so solid. Getting to the finals is a great result, but I think Miwa will be too much for her.
