WS R32
CIC (4)(WR19) 2-3 Elizabet Abraamian (Q)(WR196) (-5, -7, 7, 8, -10)
G5 27, 47 TO for Abraamian, 87, 89, 109, 1012

Elizabet ABRAAMIAN 2003/4/29
It's cool to have the russians back, even if thay have to compete under a neutral flag. Sid has beaten Gauzy, and it was normal, he has already beaten Alexis last year in the Pro A, he's a hell of a player and he's gonna make great things for sure !

Many of these matches happen overnight for me so can't watch live, but some interesting results. Aida/Sato beating the WR#7 XD pair of Robles/Xiao is impressive. Tough loss for Yukiya Uda in a decider to Kristian Karlsson. There's a couple impressive wins under the neutral flag: Sidorenko over Gauzy and Abraamian over CIC.

Not impressive, just normal: Sid has been named Player Of The Month several times in Pro A since he arrived in Hennebont. just read this https://www-jaimeradio-fr.translate...l=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=fr&_x_tr_pto=wapp

69% wins in Pro A, undefeated in ETTU Champions League, yes sir: undefeated since 2023.

Eddyyyyy !! but poor Aruna, this has been a nightmare year for him, first he was disqualified in Pro A because Cergy's president Louise Adam has filled an atrocious lawsuit against Jura Morez, and then hired by... Cergy, happens what should have happened: karmic payback.
Aruna 38%.JPG

He should find another club next year, be it Rouen or Bruille, he would be a nice mentor to Flavien Coton, and the north of France region would welcome him way better, living in Valenciennes is really cool, it's a vibrant city, as Normandy is also with Rouen.

It's the Pontoise Cergy curse: since years every player that is hired to work for them gets lost:
Freitas dropped from the top 20 in July 2024 to over the top 100 3 weeks ago
Lim dropped from the top 20 in march 2024 to the top ... 75 now
Oh Junsung is facing hard times although is still young
And now Quadri Aruna is regularly injured and plays way under his level: Stephane Ouaiche has beaten him last week in Pro A in the Caen TTC vs Pontoise Cergy match. Cergy lost 3-0 !!!!
both Freitas and Aruna is 37 years old... just need to say that :p
I'm not sure how long you think 37 years old can remain at their previous level, or do you expect them to continue improving they levels

and yeah, they get injured a lot regular too, they don't heal as fast
Not everyone can be like Timo and Chuang, playing till the 40s

He should retire
while this can be a valid post, but it is a tough question.
I ask other older players like Apolonia once and they still have a young family (same as Aruna).
Life after being a Pro in they countries (while both lives in Portugal) may not be as luxuries as say Sharath Kamal, as India is a huge TT market.

Quadri is 37. So is Dima. Quadri is the Nigerian #1. Timo and CCY played past 40. This is not a serious topic. Ionescu is a top European junior. Quadri has considered not playing for Nigeria to give players opportunities but the level behind him is too low. The issue is not his selfishness. The issue is there is no good reason at the moment first him not to play. It doesn't benefit anyone.

Hirano blows a 9-3 lead while 2-0 up against Odo. Super late timeout at 9-7, similar to how she lost a major lead against Ito at Singapore Smash 2024.

Ridiculous red card call for Hirano at 1-5 in the fifth. Not sure how much faster they expect players to move. But probably wouldn't have made a difference since Odo's superior technique was clearly winning out. Hirano and Ito seem to have the same problem, they can stay competitive in matches they're not favoured to win but can't seem to close out.

It felt like she is still suffering from emotional trauma of some sort…..a bit of a train wreck….so sad, I couldn’t watch …..

Although it would have been nice to take another title, a 3-0 loss to Lee Eunhye by Hina says it's time to take a break before the WTT Finals. You can kind of see it already in Hina with a shaky 3-2 win over Kallberg. Like Miwa, Hina's been playing non-stop so needs a break as well. It's all good though. The WTT Champions Frankfurt title was the big one she wanted and got.

Tough loss for Hirano against a quality opponent. An R16 finish at a Star Contender is only 5 pts whereas a QF would have been worth 105 points so Miu really needed this one. She'll drop 260 pts from her current 605 so 345 points which drops her to the low 70s (Orawan is currently 71 at 344 pts).

Although I knew Sakura Yokoi was capable of winning, I didn't expect 3-0 over Miyu Nagasaki. That's a really nice win for Sakura.
