If you're trying to predict the Olympic Medallists in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games than look no further than this year's GAC GROUP 2012 ITTF World Tour Harmony China Open in the round of 32 on Friday 24th August.

Kim Minseok from Korea and Fang Bo of the host nation were the two players to shine, at the mere age of 20 years old both players caused the biggest upsets in the opening round of the Men's Singles. Both players had to fight through the qualification stages to book a place in the main event.

Fang Bo and Kim Min Seok both secured four straight set victories over their opponents showing an incredible display of performance. Kim Minseok overcome Austria's number 12 seed Chen Weixing with scores 11-2, 11-9, 11-6, 11-5). In the other match up Fang Bo disposed Kim Minseok's compatriot Lee Sang Su in four straight sets.

Elsewhere, no.8 seed Gao Ning the Men's Singles Champion of the Chile Open World Tour earlier this year stumbled out of the opening round to a determined Chen Chien-An of Chinese Taipai. Chen was crowned World Junior Champion in Spain 2008, his fast attacking left handed style of play has proven very effective over recent years.
