The Baum Esprit has, for a Carbon-Blade, a relatively soft feeling for which reason the blade provides good control in all gameplay-situations.
In my opinion the bigggest strenght of the Baum Esprit is that this blade provides extremly good control in passive play for a offensive blade as well as when you want to play topspin-topspin rallies at halfdistance you can play pretty fast but also spinny shots due to the high arc the blade grants.

In terms of the weight of the blade I have to say that the Baum Esprit isn't really heavy. Mine has 88g. It is a bit headheavy but I think that this isn't bad as with this attribute you are able to put spin on the ball more easily than with a blade like the Clipper Wood for example.

And because all of that I have been playing with the Baum Esprit, which is a underrated blade, for a season and I'm won't change the blade for a while since I think that it is a great blade for versatile offensive players.

I've been using this rubber on a coaching bat I put together on my backhand side. It has decent control but is extremely soft which is not to my taste really. I'll keep using it as it is only a coaching bat. But would not like to use it for competition.

This is the best plastic ball on the market at the moment. I have used Butterfly, Joola, Stiga ,etc and this is the most consistent overall. There is not too much variability between balls. Definitely would recommend them over the other balls.

The Carbonado 190 is one of the better newer blades I have tried, I had read some nice things about this blade and it did not disappoint me. It had a good feel and control and works very good close/mid distance play. It’s a pretty fast blade but not extremely, still a lot of control. The handle feels nice and grippy (not to slippery) as some blades can be. Overall a good blade with a nice sound.

Pros
  • Good for looping
  • Affordable
  • Consistent
Cons
  • Average control
  • Relatively heavy
I have this for both BH and FH.

Throw angle is average but looping is incredibly easy with this rubber, especially if you have no trouble bending your knees.
It's fast enough if your game doesn't depend entirely on speed but also on placement of the balls.
I put 7/10 for control because controlling with a tacky topsheet requires more touch and attention to the spin of the ball.
I can also defend and retrieve balls amazingly with this, as well as do BH counter attacks away from the table with a lot of confidence.

Overall, it's a great affordable and safe choice for a rubber, that can do amazing things with the proper technique.

I followed my friends and some of the members on this forums advice to get myself a Clipper. I felt like my last blade was to fast and hard to control for me so i thought that this blade could be a better alternative, and it was. I have not played with the Clipper for that long but i already like it very much. It got the control and feeling i was looking for but it still got plenty of speed and i can get the full use of my strokes.

i have it easier to get my returns and serves short with good quality and i get a good connection with the ball, flicks also works great.

It took a few practises to get fully used to a new blade but after adjusting my strokes a little i only feel likes it’s getting better and better. thanks for those who recommended me this blade and i will also edit this review and make it longer when i have played with the blade some more weeks.

  • Large Sweet Spot

Bought this blade as a replacement to the Ebenholz NCT 5 which wasn't doing it for me. This blade is streets ahead is just what I was looking for: huge sweetspot; nice touch possible in the short game; fast when needed; very STABLE (like an old friend!).

You'll hear in the Table tennis daily video review about stability and sweet spot. Believe the hype. Only now realise what was missing from my game. Everything goes on the table. Does what you want.

Stiff but not overly so...loads of dwell time; ball doesn't just jump off the rubber. Looping is fantastic near and far way from the table.

Pricey but well worth the money! Well done Stiga.

Andro Rasant Grip on FH, and Yasaka Rakza 7 on BH.

ive been playing w this rubber for a while now on a 729 bomb and its not bad. chops were ok. Short game was good, and i could get a counterloop here and there off the bounce. after about 5 months of using it i have decided to boost with 1 layer of cooking oil. what ive found is that the speed has drasticaly improved and it makes a VERY loud sound.

I haven't tried a lot of rubbers but I didn't see much difference comparing with popular tensor rubbers like Bluefire, Tenergy and Evolution. It is really durable rubber, bouncy, spinny.
EDIT: The durability of the rubber is very very good. It can take a lot of bangs in the table and survive easily and edges are in perfect shape.
In the short play it not easy to keep the ball low some times. When the opponent uses a short serve with weak backspin on your fh side it is hard to return low and short with back-spin. It will either be short with no spin or long with backspin. Of course if your technique is better than mine you could do it, but I still think it's quite hard with this rubber.

  • low throw angle
Good rubber, little similar to T05. Defnitely for play close to the table, and definitely not for amateurs. The sponge is quite hard and also low throw angle make it not easy to play long way rallies. Very good for blocking, you can easily decide where to put the ball. Great for smashing. Not good for flicking.

This blade is one of the best i've used. I have used a Timo Boll Spirit for a long time, however since my recent purchase of the Timo Boll ALC I wouldn't change it back. It fits very well with my Calibra Tour and Joola Rhythm. It is very fast on the backhand side, even though I have a Joola rubber on my backhand which is 3 months old, it still feels brand new with this blade. The blade makes the rubber react very well, the sound of the rubbers are very loud with a clean feel which gives me great confidence when playing.

I'l refer to my review on jp-01 Turbo. http://www.tabletennisdaily.co.uk/equipment/rubbers/9575-bluefire-jp-01-turbo/reviews/106769
and make a couple short comperances. Overall the two rubbers are very similar, but the touch on M1 is a slight downgrade imo.
M1 is slightly faster, it's also slightly harder sponge/rubber speaking ofc. the hardness and speed difference lead me to believe it might be better on my fh vs the jp-01 Turbo, but personally I prefered the Jp-01 Turbo due the better feel and touch with the slightly better control that jp-01 Turbo had.
With that said it's no worse/not much difference in topspin/counter topspin, but other shots (like atempting side or side/top spin) which required a bit more touch felt in my hands like jp-01 Turbo more easily generated more spin and was still fairly close to M1 in speed.
But still an overall good rubber, top class from Donic!

i thought i could make a short review on this blade since i couldn’t find any reviews on this blade in the equipment centre.

i have played with Donic Blackthunder for maybe six month, i’m using it together with Tenergy 80. It’s a very stiff blade and it’s extremely fast, I like the power when playing hard strokes far away from the table, i also like the feel and the sound.

The problem is that this blade is to fast and very hard to control. i think it’s hard to get my returns short and i have noticed that i often play to long balls when i’m out of position. this blade is made for advanced players who like fast blade, i would say this blade is OFF or maybe even OFF +.

i can recommend it for very skilled players but for me i have noticed that i need a blade with more control. i’m glad if you can recommend me some other good blades in the comments below.

Sriver is a good rubber for offensive players and was very popular during the speed glue era. It's an offensive rubber for advanced players who prefer control before power, the rubber is not that fast. The rubber is made for the old ball and to get full use of the rubber you should use speed glue. I got some good memories playing with Sriver in my earlier days and it really makes me miss the speed glue era.

I am currently using this rubber for my forehand at Maximum Thickness.

This rubber needs some adjustment if you just start using it because it is very fast and bouncy. But once you get used to this rubber, it can be a monster. It can give you great power on your shots with high spin.

Topsinning is easy. You don't have to swing your full arm with this rubber. Just do european style loop like Timo Boll and the ball is already fast and spinny. Away from the table it can still generate power to make a strong top spin.

Blocking is very good, especially on backhand punch block (i tried this rubber on my backhand too). This is a fast rubber but i found blocking is very controllable with this rubber.

Counter Topspin. This is my favorite part of this rubber. Counter topsin is very easy you just have to snap your arm forward a little bit and it will make a strong counter topspin if your timing is correct.

Serving is great. Not as spinny as tacky china rubbers but if you do a fine brushing contact you can still generate a lot of spin.

Pushing. When you push with this rubber it often bounces too high because it is very bouncy rubber so you have to really relax the grip if you want to push low.

As for durability, i am using this already for 2 months and it still performs very well. At my school usually i play like 3 hours (3 - 4 times a week). And at my house i play everyday for 1 - 2 hours.

Overall this rubber is really good for players who plays topsin and blocking game a lot. But it is not really easy to adjust with this rubber. You have to practice some before you can play this rubber in game.
