How many inches more will the net need to be higher, anyone know?
if they wanna bring more spectators to the sport, why dont they start by actually using full HD streams of the main events for EVERYONE to watch, from 4 diferent angles?, instead of having a SUPER POOR quality stream in the main youtube channel of the ITTF that is so poorly designed and recorded that you can barely watch the ball, and even the recreational table tennis youtubers have better quality video material than them.
Dont make the game slower, SHOW it in a better way in better angles like those chinese trial matches that someone recorded in the trainer's angle of view and posted in youtube, that give you such a bigger understanding and sense of awe about the game.
Perhaps we need to remember that the main reason why people don't watch table tennis is not because they're as dumb as the ITTF thinks they are and they can't follow the small ball, but it's because they simply don't have interest in the sport.
Maybe we should get more people actually playing and admiring the pro play, and we would get more spectators.
Soon table tennis will change to this because of all these new rules, sure it's more impressive...
@lethalforehand
You said the change they're making is going to ruin what's been good so far. How is this going to ruin things?
I see this as them fixing the mistake they made in changing the ball size again. Rather than slowing the ball down making service easier to read and attack, this time they seem to have thought the change through a bit more.
@kencc
Not so much contradicting myself, I'm rather fixing my initial statement because ttmonster changed successfully changed my viewpoint a bit. Props to you for sending a complaint letter. I hope it contains some of ttmonster' points about how they should make changes differently and you're not just complaining in the letter about the change being bad.

IMO Increasing the net heights will again take away some of the spin and finesse from the game. They made the game a lot less spinny by changing the ball. I expect less short game and more long serves to get the rally started right away with a higher net, which will reduce the complexity of table tennis. Someone said above they are making tt similar to tennis. That would be awful imo.
I will subject to that new rule when it is implemented provided..they change the wood 25mm table into concrete so that the ball will bounce higher also. I think that new rule will put players more on the injury side for it will require more physical strenght added to the new polyball.
