Here's Part 1 of our new series on ttEDGE.com
ttmonster, the idea of swiping has merit. We may experiment with it after all the shots are in the app, but I'm not guaranteeing this will ever go into production. Thanks for the suggestions and keep them coming.
Thanks Brett, sure will keep them coming as they come to me. The reason I suggested because I started thinking about this and playing with one thumb instead of two even though it meant sacrificing some bonus points , intuitively it seems more helpful that way ...
This is a really useful video. And I love the view options for the serve on the app. Good stuff.
The one thing I noticed was that since we play with a single hand , instead of having a button as a response , why not have something similar to a joystick , where the responder can put his finger and wait for the stimulus and then swipe left or right ....
I will definitely let you know if I have any other specific suggestions ..
you could do similar gestures for top or underspin ...etc
ttmonster, your swipe left or right idea is now in the app. It will be available on the upcoming weekend.
There is a current IOS update available now with new modules etc.

Thank you Brett !! This is exciting , looking forward to using it ...
Thanks Brett, I looked at it briefly and it seemed pretty exciting. Off the bat, my reaction times improved immediately and it felt very smooth compared to buttons before. But I will try it for a while to come up with an honest opinion.
@UpSideDownCarl : You mentioned that there is way to toggle between buttons and swipe , I could not find it in iOS version, where is it located ?
Regarding not liking the swipe, see if this helps, visualize that you have a paddle in hand and keep your finger in the middle and then visualize you reacting to the shot that you see on screen with the paddle in hand. Intuitively, this would me more attuned with having to use two thumbs.

Glad you can tap or swipe. I tried swiping and I didn't like how it worked for me.

Carl, I'm thinking you need to update to the latest version. The swipe is clearly a more intuitive method.
This app has driven me crazy with service. The multiball is truly great for me because it increases my processing speed and reactions. But the service....
When I read serves I read the trajectory and watch the spin of the ball, I never have really watched the contact of someones serve. and when I can't see the ball spinning or my side of the table I can't get any right. I'm probably less than 50% on service on this app, which is sad because that's what it should be if I just randomly tap a choice.
Whenever I've tried to watch contact for serves in the past it would allow me to be deceived by their motion. Maybe it's because I'm low level and haven't had to deal with the truly spectacular serves but watching contact is just something I don't do.
I think its not fair to break it down to "watching the motion" and "watching the contact" , you have to watch for both. What I noticed in the app. is that if you just watch the Contact, it can be misleading. In some of the serves the contact points are the same but there are subtle difference in the motion , especially in the no spin - underspin modules. I am not saying its easy but just thought I will get it out there if it helps .... serving modules are definitely more difficult than multiball ones ...
is it incorrect for me to read serves the way I do since I don't watch the stroke or the contact? is it important to do this? or is it okay that I just watch the ball, it's worked for me so far and I hate being deceived by motion of a person so that's why I learned to do this.
