Regarding the number of players competing in both singles and doubles....
The regulation says the next thing:
4.1.9.6 Each association shall be entitled to enter 3 men and 3 women players ineach singles events, with one additional player ranked in the top 100 and oneadditional player ranked in the top 20 of the ITTF world ranking list issued inJanuary of the year of the Championships to a maximum of 5 men and 5 women.The maximum entry for each association is 2 men’s doubles, 2 women’s doublesand 2 mixed doubles; all players may be different.
4.1.9.6.1 The host Association may enter up to 6 men and 6 women in each singlesevent, 3 men’s doubles, 3 women’s doubles and 3 mixed doubles regardless ofranking.
4.1.9.2 In doubles events, both players may be from different Associations.Please make note that pairs at the World TT Championships can be composed ofplayers from different associations, but the total number of doubles cannot exceed2-2-2 (3-3-3 for host).If an association wishes to make partnership with another association for one of itspairs, it is possible, but this is considered as a unit of double, and will be recorded asone of the 2 (or 3) doubles.
