Who supports Arsenal? Check out the video below as goal keeper Wojciech Szczesny takes on his team mates!

They make a good video!

During my football playing days, while playing for my state, the coach actually encouraged the keepers to play TT coz it improves their reflexes. So, I'm not surprise that most keepers are good at it.

Good point Azlan, ive heard that before actually, that Keepers train there Eye hand co-ordination using sports like TT. These players could get the sport big if they played it as there part time hobby hehe :p

That's right, it improves one's hand eye coordination..but on the flip side, I don't think I'll make a good keeper. hahaha
Yeah, in a way, they can promote TT as they do make good ambassadors..if we can pull them away from their minimum $50k odd a week job. Think of it as community service hehehe

I noticed he (Wojciech Szczesny) is playing with a seamiller grip but he is hitting the backhand with the black side (opposite side as forehand) so he does not really know how to use that grip. Fun video though.

Two weeks ago on a rainy Sunday, I was helping out at a TT regional training day at the Bristol Academy. During the break, all the kids went to the canteen for lunch while I stayed behind. Two young ladies came in and asked if they could play. I said yes. They played for a couple minutes then called in their friends. In no time we had a hall full of young ladies all dressed in red tracksuits playing TT on 8 tables. It was very impressive. It then dawned on me that this was the entire Arsenal Ladies football team. I desperately tried to grab my phone from my bag for a video. Too late, they filed out to go play their match. I still kick myself at the missed photo opportunity.
For those who don't know, Arsenal Ladies are one of the world's leading female football teams.

In fact, I had bought a Nokia N8 (rated as best camera phone) to capture moments like this. I still kick myself when I think about it.

My friend always has an impression about my reflex when we play badminton. He kind of wondering how I can keep up to defend the smashing, or front net fast rallying. Playing TT definitely help on this, but on the bad side, the reflex is too straight forward that I will go to hit the ball that is already considered out. You know why, when we play TT, all the balls that go over the net and bounced once are good ball :D

I remember when I played badminton in school I was not bad as well but I got a lot of pain in my lower arm/wrist. That was because I used wrist technique from TT with a badminton racket, which was kinda heavy for that sort of technique :D

Yea, actually, I did injury my wrist very bad from playing badminton about 3 months ago. Was too getting used to the arm-wrist coordination from TT, I just turn my wrist too much and pull the whole wrist muscle :(

I never thought that I could hurt myself in that way by myself lol

I noticed he (Wojciech Szczesny) is playing with a seamiller grip but he is hitting the backhand with the black side (opposite side as forehand) so he does not really know how to use that grip. Fun video though.

He's not actually using the Seemiller grip. The Seemiller grip is identical to the shakehand grip other than a change in racket angle and a wrapping around with the index finger. He's using a commonly mistaken for Seemiller grip that many players use where they place their thumb and index finger on the backhand side of the rubber making them only use one side of the rubber.

Edit:

Well I looked a bit closer and he actually puts his thumb and index finger on the outside of the blade near where the bottom of the rubber meets the blade. So it's not really any specific type of rubber and also it explains why he uses both sides of the rubber because it's incredibly uncomfortable to use with the Seemiller grip.
