Damn Liu Shiwen really disappointed me, only winning 4-2 vs wang manyu instead of her usual 4-0 against everyone else.

my queen.

I started the transmission a bit later so if they said I didn't hear it, who's doing the comments of the match? I really like her comments and her contained excitement in the points hahaha

@zeio hilarious your comments of the comments LOL

i was a bit surprised to hear Kasumi speak mandarin !

Glad to hear you like it. Yes, she communicates in Mandarin with her Chinese coaches when training. That's also another reason why I think she has a hard time beating top CNT players. She plays and thinks like a Chinese player. Yet, they've mentioned quite a few times in recent interviews that they actually find it harder to play foreigners.

@zeio

for the first time in a while (ever ?), I actually have some expectations for Kasumi Ishikawa in her SF vs Zhu Yuling.
I think she really played extremely well against Sun Yingsha and Mima Ito

I felt her FH had more spin/speed/power than I've ever seen from her, and I've seen a few very good long powerful BH shots too, like one receive that left SYS without reaction. From a mental point of view, her performance shows she has never given up at improving despite numerous setbacks and not being so young anymore. If she can stay positive and manages to have a good start, possibly with some luck, i believe she can do it !

Come on Kasumi !!!

Where is Adam Bobrow, the voice of ITTF?

On Facebook, he said that had missed his flight to Korea, but I think he was supposed to have flown yesterday?

No disrespect to Galia, but I was looking forward to Adam's commentary. Is he announcing any of these matches, or just spectating? I hope he didn't get in trouble for showing up late to work.

@PatriciaPinheiro

Not sure, but I think its Galia Dvorak.

edit: yes its her, she said her name right now, before the match between Mizutani and Lee

Adam is there, I heard him speaking to Galia between matches. They were far from the mike but left it open. I thought he would make some (dirty) jokes, but he behaved professionally !

Mizutani defeats Lee Sangsu 4-2. a very good match, many points will be in the top10 i believe.

Why do some people say Mizutani is declining ? i don't see it this way at all ! he just beated Ovtcharov and LSS in a row... !!!

she enrolled in Team Ponytail and is now discovering its magical powers that the likes of Chen Meng, Liu Shiwen, Ding Ning and Mima Ito herself have long known about. Really though, it suits her better.

I agree she has improved, but I have been burned so many times I'm now a scaredy-cat here.

How do you guys like the new balls and tables that make no noise? What an amazing technical achievemnt.

Hahaha. Been a while since last time watching a tournament with no mic under the table. Reminds me of the delicate side of table tennis.

I remember he admitted on TV sometime after losing to Harimoto at the WTTC 2017 that his body started declining around 26. In a recent episode of Spirits of the Athletes, the crew followed his journey in the Russian league, during which he discusses aspects of his game that clearly fell behind, namely the chiquita, and how he has to get it sorted out if he were to play in Tokyo Olympics.

Either way, his form is getting back on track if the recent Tour results are any indication.
