Can't agree more, its a strange system.
Maybe ITTF should promote table tennis more in Europe/US, so china is not mega dominant in the future because of more european/american players.

Yea, TT definitely needs to grow in Europe and the USA to make it more globally known. But I believe China has already established a training facility in Europe or they have plans to do so, that is a good start. For the rest I think we need more people like Boll who can really challenge the world's top players in order for table tennis to become more popular in Europe. When there is an event like the WTTC in Europe the people will follow it, but from the semi's they'll be like 'Oh, they're all Chinese again'. That makes it less interesting for outsiders, although the Chinese do play the most interesting table tennis that we get to see :)

it doesn't matter if ma long would have played zhang jike will win anyway

i found it funny where your confidence came from considering the fact the ma long only lost once to jike within this past 1 year. anyway, with ma long is not qualified i would be cheering for boll to win. not that i dont like jike, but if jike were to win i really hope it is when he have to face ma long. and that will make it an epic battle
