In Japan, the kids become seniors, become all stars.

WMY and SYS was a unknown until recently to be honest.
DN and ZYL with CM hold that spot and WMY and SYS both had to wait for the "big sisters" retirements, or by beating them.

Same with CM who had DN, LSW and LXX blocking her.
and the same 3 blocking a younger ZYL too
Young DN was blocked until ZYN and WN retired and had Guo Yue and Guo Yan to handle + LSW and LXX

You make it sound like we're the typical fanboys and fangirls. WMY won WJTTC 2014 and 2015. SYS won WJTTC 2017 (IIRC, first and only try). They went dark for most of 2018, especially after WTTC 2018 (WMY even lost to FTW 1-3), all thanks to Hirano and Ito because CNT didn't want to take any chances (SYS edged out Hirano in both JS and XT at Buenos Aires 2018). Yet it was because of them that SYS got the chance to play WTTC 2019 and stopped Ito in her tracks and then went on to win ATTC 2019. The consensus on Tieba is that it was Hirano and Ito that forced the old guards out. Even LGL chewed CM out for "announcing" her era had arrived, reminding her how many World Titles were needed to play singles in previous Olympics.

WMY was already known in 2014. She almost didn't make the CNT A team in 2016. No one didn't know SYS after the back-to-back Japan Open and China Open in 2017.

Hirano (WR1 SYS and WR3 WYD in 2023) and Szocs (WR2 CM in 2022 and 2023, and WR7 CXT in 2023) are the only 2 non-CNT players to have defeated more than 1 core CNT player in the Paris 2024 period.

That is why coming close doesn't cut it anymore. Hayata needs to beat more than just WYD. Even Mizutani said back in July beating what was technically the No. 4 player on the CNT was only "meeting the bare minimum".

what was SYS age in 2019?
15 years old?
After rereading your comment, I'm not sure if you are actually understanding what I'm trying to say about CNT example where players are over 18 years old before become close to a leader and really solidating the position in there 20s.

Out of my memory without googling. FZD is likely the youngest to get a front seat in WR and CNT at a very young age. and he still had 3 to 4 big brothers keeping him in line.

In fact, to proof my point (with some quick check)
at age 16, FZD hit WR10, but had 6 CNT mens ahead of him.
Within 3 months, he become a WR5 and had 4 in front of him.
