Does WCQ's status as number 1 have to be protected so badly that LSD got a commission to lose at R64? :D
Wdym? LSD is dominating against Burgos!! And he will defeat Xue Fei next 3:0 into R16 easy.

Thanks for the answer. You are a resourceful guy. I guess the main reason most pros got into the sport had to come from the love of it, rather than the pursue of the money.
But money is important, a lot of players have complained that even the cost of flight and hotel could not be covered by the prize money…at least China Smash or every WTT tournaments hold in China, they charged a lot on the tickets with huge box office success, they shall share a part of income to the players, or we have to question: where’s the money?

I'm digging this Chinese crowd in China a lot more than the usual traveling SYS/WCQ groupies we usually see.

They cheer for foreign players like Felix Lebrun and are more reactive to good points instead of being dead silent unless their player wins a point.

Good observation.
Can't say the same for donnies here that think Chinese fans are a monolith, or the opinion of one represents the opinion of all.

He’s 19 now so he’s starting to run out of time to shine. He still hasn’t developed much consistency (which goes for almost all the players below LGY) and his style of play should get him places considering he literally plays so similar to WCQ. I just think this generation of young players are failing to develop like before, and it’ll be just LSD with no one else with him (I mean literally the best young players below 20 in CNT rn is WRB, HYZ and SY, the latter is a defender)
WCQ and WYD didn't establish themselves as part of the top of the pack until they were at least 23 years old.
He still has time.
Thankfully the hope of the national team doesn't hinge on him, and he is under no pressure to produce good results, so he can develop at his own pace.

well at core they are die hard table tennis fans, those groupies just jump on the couple shipping train and they won't give a damn about tt in general

Players dont pay for their hotel at WTT Grand Smash or WTT Champions while they are competing.

Ishikawa remains the only player to have beaten He Zhoujia if memory serves right. I'm surprised because I thought He might have fallen off after being relegated to play feeders only while Miwa is up and coming. If anything this shows that she still has ways to go to truly challenge the Chinese like how the old Ito did.

Idesawa objects. FISU WUG is not counted by ITTF.

Yes, as a country's overall strength improves, so do its athletes and fans in terms of self confidence, openness and more sports and less political(patriotism) oriented.
