My theory on why CNT perform badly in ATTC,, Astana:

1. does not give ranking points hence is just a practice / warm-up session only. ( latihan je, takyah serius sangat )
2. No prize money hence is just for exercise only ( setakat keluar peluh je )
3. After Olympics and China Smash, did not have enough rest time. ( tak sempat balik kampung jenguk keluarga, terus main lagi, aduhai lah!!! )
you not wrong
there is a lot of tournaments that is really not necessary, but they only do it for formalities.

XD R16
Ham Yu Song/Pyon Song Gyong 3-1 Matsushima/Harimoto (6, 6, -6, 6)

Yoshimura/Odo 3-2 LYJ/CSY (-10, 6, -10, 1, 8)
G5 25?, 55, 88, 118
Good win for Odo in particular after her performance vs. Batra. Doubles is going to be important for her as she fights for the 3rd spot of the Olympics.

I saw Miwa massage her right arm after a big loop. She needs rest but has another unimportant consolation match in XD later today. She's doing too much ... Teams, XD, WD, WS.

WCQ had to fight in the men's teams in the Olympics after that loss though, and he didn't drop a match there. He also had a very bad loss against Iran but hasn't lost another since, and he sure as heck was under pressure after LJK's loss. I was thinking it's mental against Faraji, but now I think it's probably just the ball. Like SYS he probably just isn't someone who adjusts quickly to different playing conditions. He also doesn't have the most stable technique, so he's gonna go through some rough patches throughout his career unless he manages to fix it.
They usually practice for days/weeks with tournament ball and tables to adjust. The smash took away that lead-in time.

and I doubt the 14 year old had the 729 Seamless ball to train for days/weeks
as well as all the other smash players.
wcq should of adapted, since they 1 extra day to train due to seeding

He probably did or at least a seamless ball. WCQ should have won, but I am pointing out the level of work the CNT do to prevent these things and when they don't have the time to prepare, what some things that follow are.

well, I would not believe CNT doesn't have seamless balls in their camp to use before the 7th of October
Its an even playing field, if any uneven, it is due to a 1 sided luxury of resources.
even when that luxury is not there, it is an even playing field still.
plus, wcq doesn't really get carded for his hidden serves, so it is all on wcq.

or as the wcq fans are blaming humidity in the hall and it was only bad on wcq's side of table when he played 🙈

or maybe you are right, the CNT players are so spoiled, when they don't get their preparation package, maybe things will go sour.

There were enough changes in between the events that lacking preparation introduces some risks. I suspect if Wang Manyu had been able to play, these things would all be far less discussed. But they have time to play themselves into form and learn. It is just unfortunate that SYS has been playing way too much throughout the year and has been a victim of her own success.

XD QF
Ri Jong Sik/Kim Kum Yong vs Yoshimura/Odo (-4, 9, 4, 8)
G2 79, 119

LJH/SYB 3-1 LGY/WYD (9, 8, -8, 4)
LSD/KM 3-0 CDS/KNY (7, 11, 9)
Ham Yu Song/Pyon Song Gyong 3-0 WCT/DHK (10, 8, 9)

Like Hayata at Paris 2024, Odo cannot pull her own weight.

Same preparation for all smash players too.
Doesn’t put CNT at a disadvantage.
Cnt strength, especially womens has been with their depth, but the depth is probably more shallow now, with opponents are stronger

I disagree, watching the match, Yoshimura never found the balance between risk and reward and it hurt Odo as well.
