I’m sitting sick at home and it drives me crazy. Out of boredom I decided to create setup which I always wanted to try but has never decided to do this because everyone says that on 968 structure blades H3N should be always on the FH side 🤣🤣🤣… f*ck off!!!😜😜😜😜

I used T05 on both my King and Q968 and it worked pretty well. That having been said I do find that harder sponge rubbers (C55 / Bluegrip and H3) do seem to suit my game with it better.

Ahh and some pics if anyone interested, Q968 Nat vs HK.Q (Provincial)
National is on the bottom and on the right.

So, by way of context I have previously owned a provincial 968 that was good but not great, and also a couple of Long 5 and a 5x. All of these had things I liked, but none were keepers. I had a Xiom TMXI and also a Hayata H2 that were good but not great. I found myself migrating back to the Viscaria’s I had previously played with. I then came across a used Hurricane King and loved it, hence the start of this journey.

So the Q and the S arrived at about the same time and I spent a few months trying them with various FH rubbers (H3 / D09C / C55) They both felt good but the Q felt consistently safer and more controlled and generally I played better with it in match play. It was slower and less dynamic but the S kept calling me, and every time I used it it felt more dynamic and certainly closer to the feel of the Vis.

After a few months of playing matches with the Q I was ready to let the S go but would pick it up again and realise it had more of everything than the Q and the cycle would start again.

I then got an opportunity to buy a player edition W968 and have had that for about 2 weeks - in short, with the same rubbers (H3 / Rakza Z) it has so far been the stand out blade. It has the softness of the S with the control of the Q and, to me, the best feel and dynamics of all three - obviously it is early days so this is by no means the conclusion. I have a good friend I practice with who is a better player than me and he would choose the Q every time. My W may also not be representative given that it is a player edition and may not be std spec.

In summary - all three are very very good and have good balance and feel, the handles are all chunky and feel nice in hand. They offer good control around the net and good speed when you hit with commitment, they all have good feeling when playing but I would say the Q is the least exciting and dynamic but the safest.

I also have a Donic original senso and that is a very nice blade indeed of a similar style.

None of these have the backhand responsiveness of a Viscaria or the stability when blocking - but all of them are better suited to my topspin oriented game.

Not a technical review so may not be what you are looking for, but I am a feel based player and so far the W feels the most like the blade I will stay with. Having said that, any of these blades would be wonderful if that was all I had to choose from - none are anything but great. Mine are all on the heavier side (91-94g) which I prefer and build up to 193-196g with the H3 and Rakza - none feel heavy to me.

Please feel free to ask any specific questions and I will do my best to answer.
This info is super valuable! Thank you!
This together with every other review I have found led me to order the national Q968.
It seems to me a balanced option taking into account my previous blades, going into the top tier of blades available!

Yes, mine is a national Q968 from ProTT. I also have a player edition W968 from ProTT that is in my view the best balanced 968 of the three i have (by far)
Thank you for your response.
is it the national Q968 from ProTT For $400, that you are talking about ?
I saw this on AliExpress For only $155. These Picture are the Hurrican KING. Just wondering if this one is the same as the one on Prott.

That’s not a Q968 it’s a Hurricane King - so no, not the same.

Only on this forum do people think that. The sentiment is much different on Chinese forums and among Chinese collectors.
exactly the regular hl5 commercial old with a red card played better than hl5 Provincial without the inscription w968 in the handle looked the same and the same inscriptions as commercial. Waste of money.

Will I have to seal my q968?
I’ve read DHS i general re prone to splinter, is this also true for the national blades?
my w968 is completely fine without any seal, although I use glue very similar to DHS #15, which I (and many other players) consider the best for Chinese rubbers

Can anyone with experience tell me the difference they found between a player edition vs national q968 or w968? Player edition is double the national cost on Prott, is it worth it?
I have some experience of currently using a player edition W968 and also owning a national Q968 and S968. For me the difference is quite marked, with the player edition having better feel and more speed but also feeling more controllable and slightly more dynamic in how it plays.

Obviously these are two different blades in the same family so this is not a direct like for like comparison.

I cannot say whether it is worth the premium but I can say that the player edition is a lovely blade that has put the other Q/S968 I own in the shade.

So. Do you like the Q968 or the S968 ?
My friend wants to sell his W968-Number 8 to me. But i am thinking about the Q968.
Which one do you think it is more controllable and more powerful out of Those 3 ? W968- Q968- S968.
Thank you in advance.

I like both of them - but they Are quite different. The S has carbon closer to the surface so feels most lively and a little like an outer in some ways but with a softer feel than something like a Viscaria. Q is very steady and safe with good feeling. My W is most powerful but that may be as it is a non standard player edition and Pro TT says has more power. I would say either Q or W as they are more similar in my experience.
