That sounds to me like the behavior of hinoki (without any fiber). Perhaps someone with experience with fiber-reinforced hinoki blades (e.g. Nittaku Septear Feel or Darker 7P-2A Carbon) can speak to whether they retain that feel but otherwise you're looking for single-ply hinoki.

For fiber-reinforced blades, the Xiom Hugo HAL comes close to what you're describing, but having used both I will say that while the HAL's short game is great it doesn't compare to hinoki, and it doesn't have quite the same repulsive force, either. But I find it more linear.

Balsa carbon blades behave like that. Unfortunately, they have a small sweet spot and are not consistent in very hard hits, imo.
I have the exact opposite feeling.
Great sweetspot due to the high stiffness and good consistency.
But I only played two reinforced balsa blades- spinlord carbon strike and a self made blade with hemp fiber outer construction...

So! I'm just curious, to be honest, cuz, i want to know if is there a blade that is outer fiber (any fiber), with a flexy, spring feeling when hiting hard and a soft of touch on slow and short plays. Yes, i want to know about a outer fiber blade, not inner.
I think the Freitas ALC would be something like that. ALC is more flexy on hard hits and the limba top is soft for weaker touch. Actually I'm unsure why this composition didn't take off more, Maze ALC was the same and that was an amazing blade, I assume Freitas ALC is the same with a different handle. But don't know why other brands don't make this composition. (I'm sure some brands make something similar but I really can't think anything from the top of my head now. Joola trinity and Donic Zhang Jike new era are not ALC blades tho might be somewhat similar. But maybe Butterfly Freitas ALC same or cheaper price.

Do you know this for a fact? I have a friend who loves his Maze ALC and would like to continue using that blade. The problem is that even used Maze ALC goes for 400+ euro, totally mental. Chat GTP suggested that Freitas is the successor and probably the available model that's most similar to the Maze.

Like golden_son said hinoki or another thick but soft outer ply (spruce) should behave like what you want.
This ^^^

I really really like blades with a spruce top, the only thing is these rip easily…
If you have this top and add some flex…

Cheers

They are the same composition. I think even Freitas said Butterfly just switched the Maze handle and job's done. But I think the Maze ALC looked better 🫣
Performance wise should be about the same anyway.

Confirmation of that:

Loki Telson CNF

Slower also with a quite soft, woody feeling and quite some flex: Loki Rxton 5 Pro Provincial. The Loki Rxton 7 Pro should feel similar but is thicker (supposedly thicker core).

Xiom also had such a blade but they decided to stop producing it (plus a limited run a couple of month ago): Hugo HAL https://ttgearlab.com/2023/08/07/xiom-hugo-hal-lab-test-report/

If 3+2 counts:
Cornilleau Hinotec Off+ Carbon. Construction: hinoki, carbon, kiri, carbon, hinoki

Look, I know you do not want to hear this, you want me to tell you about the 500 dollar miracle blade that can do anything you ask for
HOWEVER: here it comes RAZER Hinoki L8
With the rubbers i use it does exactly what your wish list describes, I can play the hot potato game short of the net forever with great feel, it gives me good spin because of the dwell time-feel and can still give a mighty good smack .

The big "drawback": It only costs about 15 us dollars 😂

😂😂😂

This might be one of the cheapest Razer products. I'm still pissed at them that my Viper mini scroll wheel click got faulty. It's a bit of an irony that they use optical switches for the two main button(for durability reason) then the scroll wheel click dies. I liked that mouse so much.

Still hate Razer as a company tho. 🌚

Yes, they are similarly constructed, BUT Freitas is thicker (thus makes it stiffer) than Maze ALC.

I think HAL is very good blade, but it really is not very flexy, it's more on the stiff side (and OP says he wants flexy). Really nice, precise, more gentle feeling than ALC (I forgot the name of the layer in HAL). We tested yesterday, weight 88g, with Rasanters. When top-spining, I had to adjust go more up in compare to my blade. Also R48 is a bit too fast for me, when I'm used to rubbers like Rxton 9 or H3. The G09C felt much closer to what I like, but other people complained it is too slow. It's just a preference. Actually we tested and weighted about 7 or 8 setups, cause people are picking blades, it was fun training.

Nice, thank you! Actually it is just a research to increase knowledge, but for 15 bucks, sounds pretty good, maybe gonna test that.

I played Giand Dragon balsa carbon 2C for several years, also one unknown blade with similar construction. Yes, it is stiff, but due to the soft balsa core and thin outer layers, a trampoline effect is present. Depending on the rubbers and applied force, this trampoline effect can add a very nice kick. 3 см away from the blade center and the kick is at half speed. Balsa is a very mushy wood that can change its properties from active play time, especially from hard hitting. There is a reason thick core balsa blades are not used by the pros.

Good on ye !
Same here, i bought it just for testing and trying out the "Hinoki-Myth". I fitted it out with the identical rubbers as my fast DHS blade and now prefer this "cheapy ".
