Calderano knocks out Togami 3-2, quite a weak game by togami's recent standards which was unfortunate to see

Rather, I think Calderano has stepped up. He added more variation to his serve to restrict Togami's flick (works wonderfully), stayed close to the table and tried to end the point as soon as possible rather than retreating to the mid-far range and rallying

It's still the same uninspiring Togami, monotonous serve-receive strategy, bad pushing and defending. I wish he could just learn a thing or two from Harimoto in these aspects.

Miwa 3 - 1 over Joo Cheonhui is a nice win. Despite being in S. Korea, this tournament has not been good for the S. Korean women. Shin Yubin, Joo Cheonhui, and Kim Nayeong knocked out in the 1st round. Only JJH remains.

Give him time. Maybe he'll come up with something very solid in his 20s. Lefties are always tricky especially if they're fast, aggressive and powerful. He has these qualities.
