  1. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

Rxton 7 is definitely interesting, it's easier to use than the Rxton 9, has a more ESN feel but is still a very tacky rubber that's pretty linear. I think if you find the R9 or H3 too Chinese, the R7 might be a good choice for something more familiar. So I glued the R9 back on my primary...
  2. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

I did thr switch as mentioned above and tried it out for a bit. The Rxton 7 really feels more like a ESN-ized Chinese rubber, like how ESN hybrids feel like sinicized tensors. In that respect it's a lot like the LAC, except softer and a bit more like a Chinese rubber. In contrast, the Rxton 9...

It's a pretty interesting rubber. I have tried it for 3 sessions, 2 robot and 1 with my regular training partner, all on the BH side of my main blade (S968). It was shockingly good with blocks and counters, and loops land longer than the regular Rxton 9. It's similar in weight, which is a little...
  4. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

Alright, so I did some testing against the robot on Mon and then had a training session on Tues with the new Rxton 9 OS 37.5. It really did feel very much like an easier to use H3 38 OS. Easier to hit through, very easy to control on counters, surprisingly a lot easier to block with, and has...

You know, I wonder if training like that was a part of my problem. So I had been seeking power, wanting to get a good crack on every loop. Once I managed to do that against single point backspins, I set my robot to random points, 3 different speed/length balls, and then tried to do the same...
  6. Zyre 03 2.5 mm Vs 2.7

Blocks are deadly too, I get constantly surprised by how much spin blocks from Zyre come back with. Like everything with TT equipment though, it's a matter of tradeoffs. I noticed that my clubmates who have switched to Zyre are significantly worse at counterattacking now. If the incoming ball...
  7. Does anyone have the experience of playing the hurricane king wang chuqin?

I played with it for about a year. It's harder and more direct than the W968, resulting in a bit more speed at the lower end, so a bit better for the BH, but also more difficult to hit through and access the flex. This means that on both FH and BH loops its difficult to get that dwell the 968s...

I don't have any specific service receive videos, but I have a recent BH opening loop practice video which probably demonstrates some of the same issues. I have a few questions and observations. Sry for all the bad serves, I was trying out a new grip so got a lot of bad contact. First, at the...

Well I don't bother, but some of my clubmates do that even for gluing lol. Also, while the softening/expansion caps, the booster effect can be independent of those things. A re-boosted H3 feels very different from an off-boost one even if they're of similar hardness and you didn't get any...

It's boosting now, 2 layers of Haifu national yellow. Apply too much for the first layer though, as I just got a larger 120ml bottle and forgot it has a bigger brush as well. I also boosted up a sheet of black LAC, gonna try LAC both sides on a LJK ADC S-series. The Rxton 9 37.5 will go on my...

It's easier to control booster usage by weight. Some of my clubmates use a scale to help them apply a consistent amount of booster, so you could probably do the same with softening by grams, or grams/mm^2 if you really wanna be precise since not all rubbers are the same size uncut.

So I'm trying to switch to a BH dominant style to really work on my BH. As mentioned before, service receives with the BH has been my biggest issue, so I looking for some advice. I think I'm better with BH pushes and BH receives of fast long services, but I seem to be having more trouble with...
  13. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

OK, it's more like $50 for 3 sheets, but still a lot cheaper!
  14. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

IDK about how it is shipping to France, but 3 sheets of the new Rxton 9 orange sponge, which is what I'm considering ordering, on Alibaba is ~$40 everything included to the US. On Aliexpress most stores are selling a single sheet for ~$30-40 total. It's cheaper on Alibaba sometimes even for...
  15. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

No, not the pro version. I've tried the pro version before, and it's one of the worst rubbers I've ever tried. It just feels...thick. Impossible to hit through, and I can loop with the power of 2400 power loopers as measured by spinsight (much worse with everything else, of course). That was...
  16. Zyre 03 2.5 mm Vs 2.7

Oh it's got plenty of spin, I don't doubt that. It's got my spin than my H3 on just about all strokes, I just can't control it.
  17. Zyre 03 2.5 mm Vs 2.7

Hmm, that makes me wanna get a sheet to try it out, at least on the BH side.
  18. Zyre 03 2.5 mm Vs 2.7

You can't simply reason your way to understanding an equipment's performance. The rubber works as a whole between the topsheet and the sponge. The thicker sponge may provide more dwell time...if the topsheet remains the same, but Zyre has a thinner topsheet. Even then it might not be true, as...
  19. Zyre 03 2.5 mm Vs 2.7

Idk, I tried it on both FH and BH. The harder I hit the less dwell it feels like it has. I had to really shorten my swing because of that.
  20. Loki RXTON 9 new sponge.

I tried out the old Rxton 9 37 degrees (blue sponge) this week, it was very underwhelming. I liked the Rxton 7 37 degrees much better. I'm really hoping that the new Rxton 9 37.5 behaves more lik the Rxton 7 37 with a bit more power! Mine should arrive later this week, and be ready for testing...
