Loop killing long pushes is not easy for an outer ALC blade, I think ML should use that a bit more often. Gotta make sure it's low and fast however.
It's even easier to loopkill long pushes with outer ALC because the blade already gives you a lot of speed to work with, so there's less energy requirement. It's just that LYJ is not powerful enough to punish this strategy due to a general lack of physicality. If Ma Long were to do that against Harimoto it'll be crushed imo.

Tbh LYJ shouldn't have lost this one, he had a lead in G2 and he allowed Ma Long to get back in the game for some unknown reason...

You gotta land them first. Those blades don't create enough arc, too high speed/spin ratio. Loop killing opportunity balls are easier with those blades, but for faster long pushes that are below net height it's almost impossible. The trajectory is just too straight. With the speed of those pushes there's already a relative lack of dwell time, driving them would not be easy.

Harimoto uses an inner ALC blade.

Nah you can brush it quite hard with outer ALC too and generate huge topspin. It's just that you have to tweak the hit/brush ratio somewhat. It is a bit different for sure.

Where is Lin Shidong?
Deemed unnecessary in this event because the two bosses at the bottom seats silently watching the matches want this tournament to be a test for FZD, ML and LJK. Even WCQ was asked to chill at home and he was replaced by Edward Ly of all people. Lol

oh I guess that makes sense. WCQ is in for sure.

The other 3 have been kinda shaky. And Lin isn't experienced enough yet.

Got it, maybe I'm just too used to the motion with flexier blades.
The big weakness of outer ALC is the short game tbh. You need to be very precise to be able to absorb the momentum of the ball to keep it sufficiently short. Inner ALC is way better at short game, and even more so if it's tacky.

Did you tell Hirano to retire after she played worse and lost worse?
Hirano has the best record against the CNT in this cycle and still is the only double-inverted player to have beaten SYS. That should be Hayata but the fact is she is not good enough despite being the de jure #1 in Japan.

That's why some Tieba users still treat Hirano as the bigger threat to this day.

Yes, we know. So what has she done lately that Hayata didn't do? So the win over SYS last year which has failed replication with SYS plugging the holes is your justification for asking Hirano not to retire while Hayata who is clearly playing at a higher level.vs SYS who is plugging holes?

Who lost to Ito, someone she admitted to not wanting to lose to ever? With ranking points on the line that should have improved her seeding significantly?

You can't juat beat the CNT, you need to beat everyone else as well!
