Anyone use a cutting board to trim off rubbers with Xacto knife?

i don't but i should . I use a nice thick stiff cardboard which is doing the job but the green cutting boards are "the business"

I just use scissors.
A lot of times the rubber expands after boosting so it hangs off the edge. Then i just cut off the excess

Just random sewing scissors. Small and sharp, so it works well

Cutting board or something soft and thick enough to preserve the sharpness of the blade but still protect your work surface. Some pro rubber asssemblers use utility knives with 18mm extra sharp black snap blades as they are probably more economical than xacto blades. Sharp scissors work too but if you want that perfect smooth exact fit edge on the rubber, good blades are the way to go.
I use a snap-off knife, the inexpensive kind. I don't boost, so no overhang for me.
