Looking forward to the mixed doubles match between XX/LSW and Yoshimura/Ishikawa. Both pairs are seasoned veterans on their respective national teams (i.e. nearing the end phases of their professional TT careers coupled with threats from the younger generation of players) so I would imagine performing well for Mixed Doubles will be an important milestone towards qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics.

Mizutani will be up against Harimoto. Will be interestimg !!

My money's on Mizutani. His skillset is more rounded plus Harimoto has a bad record against left-handed players.

He didn't need this tournament, he already has 5 entries which is enough.

Ya, I mixed him up with FZD and LGY. They needed 2 stops. ML showed up even injured most likely because of the penalty policy. Late cancellation gets you a "forced 0 points" in your best 8 results.

He nearly cameback and played almost 4 open if we count korean open too . And also his relationship with LGL was revealed to be fine and also some photos of his trainings came out too , so maybeeee another comeback will happen ... Atleast I hope ..
what happened after the Korean Open anyway? He was getting back in shape, almost won the Japan Open and then just disappeared.

Hard to say, last time they met Jun won. But these days I do not see Mizutani playing his level, he started beeing passive again ( a lot of blocks) which makes him finally fishing. Still I support him cause he deserves to be top 10 player and would love to see another great fight agains Xu Xin.

Yes, she’s kept posting good results in Japan since winning Hopes 4 years ago.
Had some disciplinary problem at Elite Academy in the past but she’s got around to it and all she needs now is the international results.

Really enjoy and appreciate your commentary on the Japanese youth development system.

Poor Hayata, she's turning into Ishikawa during the crucial moments. Held a 2-point lead at 5:3, and 6:4...

It's all but confirmed now Hirano and Ito have this interesting quality/ability, where they actually play better when trailing and harden up(often described as "awakening" in Japan) when it gets tight.

I think Ishikawa's blessing is the introduction of the mixed doubles event. They will find a way to encourage her to play that and forget the singles event.

How ironic Japan is turning into China to prohibit falling in love with your classmate.

Actually some of the fans thought that after liu guoluang 's comeback maybe he wont play but it wasnt right and zjk posted a photo of him and liu while having dinner and every one seemed happy and peacful . So Its about him mostly . After his photo with liu , he posted his training photos . I think the reason why he didnt participared was his decision because CNT already supported his comeback . I hope he comesback cause of the goal he has set month ago for himself . But newly there 's no news . Just his participation in Ice hockey promotion that occured days ago and sone business program which he played TT with his fans

Seeing the JTTA has published the criteria at the start of the year, where the 2 highest world-ranked players will play in singles, and Ishikawa is as high as she has ranked now at World No. 3, and the mixed pair is selected from the 3 men and 3 women players, I wonder how they feel about the odd situation now.

In case someone at ITTF is following this thread, the audio for Table 2 feed is like a second behind the video.

table 1 - never thought any chinese could have problems with traditional defence.
ZYL taking a lot of time between points, she should get yellow card.

And now edge ball for ZYL to win the 3rd game by the lowest margin.

Hirano still blacks out at times, losing 5 in a row after 6:7 in game 4. She's stubborn here, still jumping over the edge knowing full well it's a dead end.

ZYL is still recovering from the shock, struggling at the moment against a chopper that she'd have breezed through otherwise.

HASHIMOTO is really good though
