The first main day of the knockout round at the Brazil Open 2011 took place with the seeds all winning their respected games.

Brazil's Cazuo Matsumoto had a superb victory over number 11 seed Lubomir Pistej from Slovakia. Cazuo won in the 7th set! 4-3 (11-7,7-11,5-11,12-10,11-5,3-11,12-14).

All other Brazil players got eliminated from the draw with only Cazuo qualifiying.

Many of the other seeds qualified in 4 straight sets including Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Bastian Steger and Marcos Freitas who beat Chile's Felipe Olivares, Matías Contreras and Alejandro Rodríguez respectively by 4-0, Tiago Apolonia who beat Argentina's Emir Baca by 4-0, Joao Monteiro who beat Brazil's 14 years old Hugo Calderano by 4-0, and Jean-Michel Saive who defeated Brazil's 17 years old Eric Jouti by 4-1.

The next round see's some exciting matches inlcuding Cazuo Matsumoto who face's Tiago Apolonia, Marcos Freitas against Phillipp Floritz and Yang Zi vs Fluwen Filus.

The women's highest seed has'nt started yet, but starts today which will see the number 1 seed Wang Yuegu face Brazils Lin Gui.
