Vráblík got a lot better against defense (or against Chtchetinine), if you look at his results over years, now he has much more success!!

Wow, Vrablik has so much power in his forehand, sounds like a gunshot. I am surprised by Chtchetinine's little curse rants (3:04, 7:42), I thought that pros would yellowcarded for that. Or he got away with it because the umpire did not know Russian

Yesterday matches..

Last week (not this week) there was strongest tournament ever at challenger series!
At least I think so..
Players like Ghosh, Hořejší, Vostes, DYJAS, Kojič, Stoyanov and Duran in one tournament together, who would guess the winner?
And also Romain Ruiz as a dark horse, which didnt really do much in there..
So I am going to share of what I had recorded..:

Last week of the challenger series I would call a week of Evgueni Chtchetinine!

He had it tough, but made it through!
Lets see how it was!

First he had to play Frane Kojič, who beat him several times already..

The he played french player Brice Olivier, lefty with pretty consistent topspining,.. great match!

The he had to play Jiří Vráblík, who beat him quite a few times recently..

At last an easy match against .. well - not being in form Fedor Kuzmin..

Next he played this crazy playing french Romain Ruiz, funny guy, hehe..

In the meanwhile Vráblík destroyed Kuzmin..

And Kojič did the same to Angles..

And last match of Evgueni - against Angles, which he really needed to win in order to get into the semifinals!
But Angles - well, a great play to be honest!!

Last week of the challenger series forced me to even do the highlights video of the semifinal between Kojič and Ščetinin!
That was some match!
And before the match it was Kojič, who was clear favorite!
The odds were strongly for him as in the groups he won 3:1 and if you look at the history between these two, its again confirmation that the defender is not in a good position..



Last 6 encounters went to Kojič and the 7th during this tournament day before this semifinal..

But the match was an epic showdown!

After this semifinal it was FINAL match, where also Ščetinin was not really a favorite..
Despite of the records as you can see, Vráblík has not a good record against Ščetinin,
he won just 7 of 28 their encounters, BUT! .. and that is a big BUT, he won last 3 meetings!
(the last meeting is not in this table, it was the group stage of this tournament, you can watch the match above, Vráblík won clearly 3:0)..



So Jiří Vráblík was the favorite again, and of course, he wanted to win this final, but that was the intention of Evgueni too!

So we got another super match!

I'd love to see a match twixt Yevgeni Ščetinin and Li Jie; wonder whose attack would make the difference in the and. After a very, very, very long exchanges of BH pushes.

This one is very nice, Moregardh vs. Florian Bluhm, also atack vs. defense!

This Moregardh really likes to play into defense..
BUT Ščetinin is another kind of a defender, hehe..

And I also got Hořejší again in the groups against Ščetinin..

because THIS WAS ONE FOKIN AMAZING MATCH!!!

Sven Happek, an outsider, weakest player of the tournament, playing against the strongest defender attending the tournament..

Odds were 8:1, lol!

But Sven decided to cause an upset and who put his money at Evgueni Chtchetinine was already under table fainted, when Sven was 2:0 up and 5:0 in the third set!

But who thought that was the end of the match, was terribly wrong!

I always like when Jančařík meets Evgueni, you have to think, that mighty topspins and smashes from Jančařík have to be enough to beat the defender..

But when you look at the stats..



He has never done it..

This one is from yesterday and I am working on his matches today against David and Gerold..
