Szocs is overrated.
Female LSS of ROU...

https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/topics/wtt-champions-frankfurt-2023.32185/post-430032
Felix and Bernadette gold medalists in next Olympics...
Szocs and Hirano are equal in win rate against the CNT so it's definitely no joke.

(Szocs's win rate against CNT is actually 50% for Paris Period)

Forgot to mention that JJH says SYB will focus on XD going forward and so she paired up with Joo Cheonhui, while dismissing the others (proof that she doesn't get along with the other teammate killers?). She also touched on LSS's recent form, saying that there is an inside joke that he should draw ALL CNT players to unleash his potential, or else he wouldn't make it.

Hirano vs Kim Na Yeong
2-0 up, 7-3 in the third game.
Kim chases to 7-6 to force a timeout.
Hirano gets matchpoint at 10-9 but loses the game 11-13.

Hirano's forehand is all over the place for the first half of the game. Catches up but it's a little too late.
2-2 now

2-3 Kim Na Yeong.
Has KNT figured JNT/Hirano? They've had their sights set on Japan since Tokyo.

Hirano eased but KNY was also up 7:3 in G2 and dropped it.

Kinoshita almost wiped out after 2 rounds. Only Nagasaki left.

That doesn't sound like Miwa to say she thought it would have been an easy match. Sounds more like the opinion of the interviewer.

Nonetheless, live and learn. These experiences are valuable. I'm sure Miwa will be fine.
If need to be precise on word on word, Miwa said, I thought if I played normal, there shouldn't be any problems to win.
In other words, it is a humble way of saying, it should be an easy match. So that is why I summarized it as such

I read Miwa's interview.
She said she treated He as a "practice partner" only (for China main players) and thought it would been an easy match.

Obviously, we know what happened and how Miwa end up struggling when the first game didn't go as planned.
She said she was struggling to beat He during the first 3 balls and trying to beat her during rallies and from there, she ran out of plans. She was not prepared to struggle against He, while He had a plan against her.

From here, Miwa said, she realized the threat is not just the main Chinese players, but any other player in the Chinese team are also very good.

So she was irritated with how she prepared.
Hopefully she learns from her mistake.
Source please.

I only found the statement posted on a Facebook account called (Silly things in Taiwan) that used a very poor quality image of Harimoto crying at the Olympics after her loss against Kaufmann. The page itself seems to be a very pro-China/CCP/reunification troll account that can't really be trusted. If you can read Chinese you would immediately recognize that the post was written in Traditional Chinese anyway. The post seems to be entirely lifted from a random Weibo post that has 0 interactions uploaded that same morning.

In fact Miwa herself asked if she could do her post-match interview in Japanese because she did not feel confident of expressing her thoughts well in Chinese, so that quote is at best a translation/interpretation but I'm calling bullshit seeing how there are no other quotes of her saying the same thing in Japanese. In the interview she only briefly mentioned that the loss was 'regrettable' but quickly shifted her focus to WD and XD.

Other than that, it doesn't seem like Miwa has said much at all on the matter, with the most extensive Japanese report talking about what the Chinese media has said, no direct quotes from Miwa:

The result of this match was also widely reported on Sohu, a website of the host country China. While describing Harimoto's loss as “the upset of the day,” the media reported that “the strongest foreign player for the Chinese women's table tennis team lost in the first round. With Harimoto Miwa being the highest ranked Japanese women's player in the world at this year's tournament, “Miwa Harimoto, ranked seventh in the world, was the ace of the Japanese women's singles team. However, her one-sided defeat to He Zhoujia, who is only ranked 71st in the world, clearly created a buzz,” they wrote in their impression of the match's outcome.

Sohu did in fact use the word 陪练 (training partner) to describe He Zhuojia but not a single time was Miwa quoted. They just emphasized how He was not to be underestimated because she's the training partner of none other than Sun Yingsha.

Finally, even Ito has said that 'if all of us were forced to play from qualification, it's unlikely that we would all make it to the first round'. I highly doubt that Miwa would be less humble than her senpai lol

Is Hirano carrying an injury? Her shoulder is wrapped and it wasn't on the match yesterday

you right
that is the exact word for word

and I had a look at that facebook page. Indeed pro-china ccp as you called it. The most may be in traditional chinese, but it seems to be a haven for a lot of simplified chinese users in the comment section and there does seem to be a lot of political motivations going on there. including saying miwa isn't even good enough to be in the CNT b team and all other nonsense.

never the less,
we taking in the message of, don't under estimate your opponent.

The LP propaganda page would likely broadcast the message as such.

meanwhile the anti pip page, lead by Gozo will have a completely different message and have a world wide protest to ban the pips

Thanks Sora for showing us the true color of Truls, what a twat. Screaming in the opponent face, then laughing at the opponent serve, if you feel like the serve is blocked just complain to the referee
which table they were playing on ? I can't find the replay on wtt youtube, checked all live stream recordings briefly 🤔

(Silly Things from Taiwan) is a mainland China-based self-media that mostly pokes fun at biased news by pan-Green media and is borderline propaganda. As such and without citation, this piece qualifies as fake news.
