Can you elaborate a little more on this? I almost gave up on this blade because i felt that the 09c was uncontrollable on forehand and on backhand. It was also my first time trying this rubber but the 09c on the innerforce alc was more manageable. Finally gave it another go with the Dignics 80 (FH) and Mantra Pro M (BH), similar to the combo i was playing on my Innerforce ALC (Tenergy 80 and Tenergy 80Fx) and felt much more confortable and im enjoying this blade much more.
I feel it has a little less vibration than the Innerforce ALC but when you acelerate the ball, the blade stiffens up (if that makes sense) it feels that you are really in control away from the table. I think its a good compromise between Innerforce ALC and Viscaria, or in my case between Innerforce and Treiber CO (Freitas ALC).
Well, I was being a little dramatic for comedic effect...
For me, 09C is more fun and has more potential than using Dignics 05/80 but it's more of a style thing, I think. Although, 05 on backhand would be more standard for most and easier to generate speed/spin on random balls (possible that I am stronger with 05 still on BH than 09c). I felt like with 80, I had to worry about the ball going long so I had to take some off my shots and this led to less control or weaker shots. Good for blocking and driving. 05 similar but more spin oriented, more arc but lands shallower on table, requires more closed angle than 80.
On the forehand side, it is not really close, 09C is way better for me. I like 09C for blocks (slower but good spin and control), opens (can crank up spin and get nice trajectory over net but deep on table), counters (harder someone plays, better 09C responds), serves, pushes, etc.
05 requires closed angle but lacks the grip so ball slips more than with 09C. 05 is better at blasting through a low ball to finish due to initial speed off racket.
On backhand side, it is harder to generate speed on slow/weak ball with 09C but way easier to control and counter strong shots. I mostly open and control on backhand, so it works well for me as those are two big benefits of 09c over 05/80, based on how I play.
I'm really happy with HTSALC/09C x 2 overall and expect to continue improving with it as I get more accustomed to the setup. The 09C just fits my style better - hit hard on FH for the big shots with the ability to pick up the ball with spin and control as needed. On BH, 09C offers good blocking control and spinny opens. Serves are easier to keep short and with spin.
I spent a lot of time with Rakza 7 (and some Hurricane), and just feels good. I like the blade a lot and maybe oen day I'll go back to Viscaria, but I don't really think about my equipment at this point. Just need to practice more.
