In Timo's gluing video he says that he uses the heaviest ones and if they are too light he sends them back. Also weights them all himself and records it.
I wouldn't be surprised if a similar QC process (or one step in such process) is done in advance by DHS when selecting provincial vs commercial vs national.

No, it´s an almost water-like liquid.
...
It doesn´t do much on Chinese rubbers where obviously Chinese "oil" boosters give better results, but works a treat on German and Japanese rubbers.
Not at all.
The main ingredient is said to be the chemical "Limonene" (but it doesn't smell like citrus fruit). The boosting effect comes from the vapor pressure of the "Limonene" (you can also see this nicely when you apply eucalyptus oil on a rubber (it bulges massively) - But please don't do that, the stuff is carcinogenic.
The stuff is pretty aggressive and burns very badly on the skin.
It works pretty good as a bosster for ESN or Japanese rubbers (or chinese). If you also apply a thin layer of white oil, the boosting effect lasts "forever".
I can also confirm what Airoc and M4rc0H said about Dymax. I used it a few years ago and I cannot stress enough that I recommend wearing plastic gloves (and perhaps also a face mask) while working with it; it is indeed difficult to get it off of your skin as it is quite aggressive. Don't let your kids go near it and let the treated rubber(s) air off outside - if possible - or near an open window...
When I applied the booster onto the sponge with a plastic clip and the small sponge, I then put the plastic clip away for a day and when I finally wanted to throw it away in the trash, I noticed that the lower part of the plastic clip (where the little sponge was still attached!) essentially melted away like it was severely burned. The clip disintegrated very soon after touching it.
This booster is no joke.

@Zwill show the rubber curl from the air box compared to booster, and of different sponge densities
This is normal glayzer. I'll make more pics later but v15e is about the same. IMG20240704180911.jpg

So you always put the rubber in the box without the blade ?
Not at all. I just put the rubber inside so it stretches a bit. Unfortunately Glayzers shrink a little so if I put them in the box they will return to original size for an hour or more and I can glue it on my racket more neatly.

Tonight I had my racket inside the box assembled and no bubbles appeared.
Also you can see V15E and Mantra Pro M below, the box can fit 2 sheets of rubber besides my paddle. As you can see V15E reacts more.

Goed idee. 1 kant dichtsmeren met een kap en pvc lijm, de andere kant schroefdraad en kap. twee gaatjes erin voor een ventiel en een luchtdrukmeter.

Good idea. Seal one side with a cap and PVC glue, the other side with thread and cap. two holes in it for a valve and an air pressure gauge.

I remember reading on another TT forum a post from a DHS employee who said all the hurricanes are made the same, but the best ones are selected to be national, then provincial, then commerical. kinda made sense to me that it was just a quality control thing and a way to get extra money for the ones that are pumped out the best.

Just like TT balls are sorted to 1-3 stars

Well it isn't just a QC thing if there are distinct specifications amongst the different rubber types. If national is QCed to a higher average weight for example, then there is a difference in the mean weight between the rubbers on average and not just quality control reducing variation around the mean.

hmmm ok maybe it wasn't a DHS employee. but i found the post. this guy sure does seem to know what he's talking about and it makes sense to me considering the properties of these large sheets of rubber that are used to produce these TT rubbers:

(sorry not trying to derail the thread- i am very interested in the product OP posted about!)

Good stuff more in line with the idea it is just QC but yo the same averages. The one thing I think he neglects to mention which makes his answer about blue and orange sponge slightly misleading is that blue sponge is currently only available in black. I wonder whether another color using blue sponge would allow ir to be used on both sides. In that case some players who use H3 on both sides might forego orange sponge altogether though I understand his personal preference answer as well.

Okay my last post on Hurricane, I am 95% sure I am going to buy this sponge air machine.

@M4rc0H which substance is carcinogenic according to you? I looked up both D-limonene and eucalyptus oil but didn't see anything pointing out it is carcinogenic
Yes you are right. I confused this with another oil - tea tree oil. But that is not carcinogenic either.
The oil that is carcinogenic is aniseed oil. It also has the highest vapor pressure of the essential oils.
