I know many IUs, but I'm a coach, not umpire, so didn't take part in those exams.
I wish you all the best and hope some IUs can come and share experiences with you.
Hope one day you can also travel around and umpire in different countries

I took the UI exam a while back, but I don't think it has changed much since then. My advice is to study the handbook thoroughly. While many of the questions will cover general rules, there will also be some tricky ones that require a deeper understanding of the details. To answer these properly, you'll need to be familiar with every single aspect in the handbook. I remember a few questions about rare scenarios that could happen in theory but almost never happens in a real match.

my exam is tomorrow. ill write down tips here based on what my experience will be for tomorrow. so that future takers will get a heads up if they ever so need it.
That will very interesting, and indeed very useful for others that might consider this, thank you!

Ill write some stuff while the wound is still fresh

I literally just finished the exam

I failed

its a 1-50 multiple choice with 38 as a passing grade

we were required to enter 2 study courses online

it has a lot of trick questions, paraphrasing and stuff. do not add external influence and just answer the question as it is stated.
it was mostly match play situations and a good mix of para wheelchair doubles questions.

if you need more help or have questions you can comment here or dm

i'd write more but im wallowing in regret and depression hahahaha

cheers

Failure in life is rarely permanent unless it is only one tike you get to do something and in my experience, there are transferable benefits to one-and-done failures when you have put in reasonable work so even those failures are beneficial with the right mindset. Many people don't pass an exam the first time. Good luck next time.

Tough luck dude.
Sounds like the kind of thing you have to do once to get a real idea of what it's all about and what you need to do.
You'll smash it next time!

Just want to add on. you get online sessions with your fellow IUC takers. minimum of 2 3 hour classses.

the face to face ones kind iffy cuz personal experience mixes in with word problems and can cause confusion.

at the end of the day, it is what the platform/online tests want and not a realistic type of answer.

i hope im making sense. ill do my best to explain.

Failure of the first exam:
Join at least 3 national tournaments again within the 1st 2 years
Retake is available 2 years from the date of failing the exam

2 years!
You mean you have to wait 2 years or you can do it sometime within 2 years?
