Hello Everyone!

I am Michal, I am from Slovak Republic.. and me and table tennis.. well.. I always was a multi - sport talent, whatever I began to do, I was very fast good at it..
At the age of 15 my friends called me to play pingpong,.. I asked: "What is pingpong???" .. I had no idea that there is such sport..
I got my ass spanked as I lost 21:0 .. hehe..
One year later I got my revenge 21:0 and since then I try to get better and better..
Too bad I was too old when I got to table tennis, and noone wanted to train me seriously.. I got to intrude into trainings of league players, they tolerate me somehow and I got better..
But since noone really trained me, I never got some .. good..

My best result is 9th place at Slovakian universiade, where all university students play for the Slovakian title, .. so 9th place is pretty awesome for non professional player :)

Now I try to play in some low leagues as I cant get higher, I am right handed all around player, I LOVE to play, I love all, offensive, defensive, I wish to get better..
I consider myself to be professional amateur .. since I beat almost every amateur and almost every professional beats me..

I won several amateur tournaments, but never had a chance in some pro..

So I think that is all about me..
Oh.. I am 28 years old, so I play now for 13 years.. :)

So, 4 years later and I can add that I learned a lot more about table tennis in past 4 years than in all years before :)
Its thanks to this forum, thanks to new coach I met and that improved me a lot.
Also I got that luck that I have one of the 3 players of our country that went to WTTC in my team, that helps a lot :)

I can add - since I had green-blue hair, people called me Žabiak, that means Froggie.. I also love climbing .. so that explains my avatar, which I made profesionally in ms Paint :D :D :D

Hi guys,
Im 27 and roughly playing table tennis since 10 years. Im training 3-4 times a week with about 3-4 hours a day. I've got the second highest grade of trainer license in Germany. I would have liked to go pro , unfortunately my talent in table tennis is not as big as my ambition and I discovered table tennis too late for me. Nevertheless I'm not too bad and i think i know a bit of what Im talking when it comes to table tennis ^.^

Hey Guys,

I'm 12 years old, soon turning 13 next year :) I have been playing table tennis for about 3-4 years and 2 years in my table tennis club. I'm training 3-4 days a week with about 2-3 hours a day. I'm the best one in my club but I think on changing club to improve my game, as I don't improve so much here as the other players, my teammates are on a lower level.
I live in Sweden in Stockholm my dream is to become a proffesional table tennis player and to compete in competitions.
I like to play with though guys that are at my level or on a higher as it's good to get a little bit of resistance.

I just LOVE! to play agressive as i'm a very offensive player.

I always watch table tennis matches and World Cups. My favourite table tennis player is Ma Long and after that, Fan Zhendong :) I'm very talented, and my coach believes in me.

On Tuesdays after my practice in 1 hour and 30 min, right after that I play with Seniors, the adults that are very good and are advanced, and they have played Table tennis for a very long time. It's fun to play with them as I learn to play against hard players and I learn from them and they always give me tips about how i can improve my game and things that i did good in the matches we played after some practice strokes.
But they only practice on Tuesdays at the moment...

/Filip :)

First post to this site! I'm Amy and started playing this game at the ancient age of 46 - about 8 months ago. My husband would always play on cruise ships and I would always want to join in, but I was absolutely terrible! When Triangle Table Tennis opened up just a few miles away from us, we joined and I started taking lessons. I now am hooked. I take lessons every week and try to practice 5-6 days a week. I plan to play in my first tournament in October. I read everything I can and watch hours of youtube videos to improve my game. Because i started so late in life, I have a lot of catching up to do!

How cool. Great to have you at here Amy. This is definitely a good place to learn a lot of stuff. Taking lessons is an excellent idea. It helps so much. This is a very technical game. But you can even start at 46 and get to be a pretty solid player. So good luck on your table tennis adventure.

The beauty of starting older is that you can look forward to improving for the rest of your life and you will learn a lot in a technical sport like this. Those who trained in their youth often get to levels that they don't see themselves going back to as they get older.

Be sure to work with a coach who has had success getting adults to improve. Too many coaches just run students through the processes they improved with and are essentially trainers, not coaches. True coaches tend to help you see technique and strategy the way they do.

Good luck and welcome.

Hi,

I started playing 12 years ago. Now I play in the 3third Belgian league.

In Belgium, there is no diffusion for Table Tennis on TV or Website like DTTL.

So I created a Youtube Channel. I take my cameras and go around the tables in the country.

The level is not big as in Germany or France, but we have lots of young players which can become good (Like Florent Lambiet, Arthur Bilas etc).

And, of course, we have Jean-Michel Saive :)

Sorry for my English,

TTBTV

Sorry guys that I didn't do it a lot earlier...

My name is Corneliu, everyone calls me Cornel and I'm turning 16 in the middle of August. I began playing table tennis in May 2013 at the club of the biggest beverage company in Moldova, so the club has the same name as the company - Efes Vitanta. My coach is one of the most respected in our country and his son was the best player in Moldova for some time, being national champion and member of Moldova table tennis team, now he is also a coach. I am a proud neighbor of Vladislav Ursu, currently ranked 927 in the world at only 14 years.

I like to play offensive, mostly beginning the atack with a forehand loop, but I work hard to improve my backhand loops from backspin, so I can become a both wing attacker. I pay much attention to the serve, and I try to have a wide variety of them. I learn some of the pros serves, which IMO are the most efficient ones - JM's high toss serve, TB's reverse pendulum serve, Waldner's serve, low tomahawk serve with a very high toss, Ovtcharov's backhand serve, and also the common serves. I don't like when someone is having a spinnier loop than mine, so I pay attention to having spinny loops, while also trying to have them fast and aggressive.

My coach sometimes compares me to Samsonov, because I'm the tallest in our club, even if I'm only 181 cm tall. He has guided me very fast that the lenght of my arm is a big plus that I must use in order to gain an advantage over other players.

I pay more attention to training than to playing in competitions, and I'm not yet a ranked player in my country, but in the last 6 months I started playing at Sunday Tournaments, which do not count for country rankings, and there are playing mostly people over 40 years of age, so these tournaments are a good way of getting experience by playing against different kind of players. But I am seriously thinking of playing this autumn in a tournament which counts for Moldova ranking.

If I see a player which has a blade or rubbers i didn't try before, i won't miss the opportunity to try that racket, because here in Moldova players use a very narrow range of equipment, i guess more than 80% of all the players in our country use either Tenergies, Bluefires or Acudas, and the situation is even worse when talking about blades - Butterfly and Donic are also the big brands there.
