POOR, POOR ONES.
Table tennis players seem to have no hunger for money. Gozy of France confessed he lost money a lot and zero profit while playing in WTT events.
Living in poverty is the players destiny, sorry.
you mean Gozo?
he only have appetite for EJ

According to ITTF, China has loss already.
Quality of journalism has gone down the drain

yeah, just like the players will have other income other than WTT prize money
1. Pros are into EJ'ing.
2. Pros are moonlighting into other jobs.

We are them, they are we. We're all one big happy family...

All the girls are so lucky they don't have to play Diaz in this form

I don't recall the Japanese girls ever matching the Chinese in rallies like this before:

2017 Hirano outsped and 2018 Ito outsmashed the competition, but it always felt like they were trying to end the point before the superior quality of the Chinese could prevail. Even Hayata relied on rhythm disruptions to beat Wang Yidi.

Diaz shows the kind of quality needed to beat the Chinese at their own game.

Out of 3 WS matches (9 games), Adriana Diaz won 8 and lost 1. WS win rate = 8/9 = 88.8%
Out of 2 WD matches (4 games), Adriana Diaz and Melanie Diaz won 2 and lost 2. WD win rate = 2/4 = 50%
In total, PUR won 13 games and lost 23 games. The singles games for PUR were all won by Adriana.

CHN is 24 and 2 in Stage 1. No doubt Adriana has left a mark. After 1-3 FTW at WTTC 2018 (WMY's first entry), WMY loses again in a major team event.

I like Bernie but it will make more sense if France goes through to the next round. I guess Romania is slightly hurt by not having Eduardo around.
just watched the recording of Szocs vs Pavade. I don't mind the little french girl encouraging herself before she serves but I think it is incredibly bad taste to "blabber on " non stop while the opponent is concentrating to serve. Good on ye Bernie to keep your cool, I would have thrown the bat at the "little nuisance" 😂

Stage 2
KOR vs FRA
LJH/SYB 0-3 Pavade/F. Lebrun
G2 108, 1214

SYB is dropping points left and right.
Lebrun is totally unaffected by yesterday's loss.

The biggest development today, as we all know, is that Hayata switched back to the red Gyo-en handle blade against the French team. Clearly she is trying to fluster her opponents.

Cue the, “why would she do that, just use this or that instead, etc, etc”

In the grand scheme of things there are not that many WR points at stake, just chill your booster and enjoy the matches without asking questions only the player or personal coach could actually answer.

This tourney is turning out pretty interesting. Because of the round-robin format, I get to see various singles and doubles match-ups that don't normally happen. Another interesting aspect of the BO15 format is that it gives rise to the phrase "lose the match but win the game." In short, every game counts.

Why did Jeon all of the sudden decide to play matches with extra make-up on? It's honestly really distracting from the match itself
Well, you "fell for that trick" 🤣
I never look at the faces, I look at the .................blade.🤣🤣

Yeah really digging it. After watching this and a few of the MLTT games, I gotta say the team format is a lot more entertaining as a whole than the standard singles and doubles. Wish we got more events like this and more players made it a priority to attend.
