Ma Long & Zhang Jike Clash At The 2013 World Tour Grand Finals In Dubai!

Two of China’s most well respected players Olympic champion Zhang Jike and World number one Ma Long are now due to face each other in the early stages of the 2013 World Tour Grand Finals in Dubai.

The draw took place at the Movenpick Hotel where to many peoples surprise it became apparent that Ma Long and Zhang Jike who are both friends and teammates were likely to meet in the quarter-final stages of the US $1 million tournament. The tournament began today Thursday 9th January 2014 and concludes on Sunday 12th January 2014 at the Al Nasr Sports Club.

Zhang Jike who is extremely eager to win the tournament for the first time having won every other major event in the sport including the 2012 Olympics, the 2011 World Cup and two World Championships (2011, 2013) commented “It certainly is a tough draw, the tournament is very difficult to win just like the Olympic Games. I am hopeful I win finally win this prestigious competition here in Dubai.”

With both players coming out triumphant in the round of 16 earlier on today, the fans and supporters of the two esteemed Chinese players are now looking forward to seeing this long awaited match in the quarter-final stage tomorrow. The question is who will be victorious in what looks to be 2014’s most anticipated match so far. The encounter begins on Saturday the 11th January 9.00am GMT, live on the ITTF Live Streaming on TableTennisDaily.
