Florida Crocs and Seattle Spinners playing now as I type this. I missed out on the first team matchup between Chicago WInd and Portland Paddlers. On replay I see that they did male vs female matchups. Nikhil Kumar (Paddlers) wins 2-1 over Mo Zhang (Wind). In the other matchup, Kotomi Omoda (Paddlers) wins 2-1 over Daniel Pinto (Wind). But Kotomi was matched up w/ male player Sean Zhang in the Golden Game and lost both meetings 3-1. She does need to work on her Golden Game points.

Controversial moment at 19-19 in golden game. Seattle claims Andy Periera had double bounce, Florida denies it, ref rules in favour of seattle and seattle ends up winning 21-20 and 11-10 overall. Imo that was very close but i think that is a double bounce

It was close, but I think Andy got it clean. I did not see a double bounce and certainly not conclusively a double bounce which is what is required for a call to be overturned. Very questionable overturn.

Definitely could’ve gone either way. When I watched the slow mo, I noticed a slight upwards motion from the ball before Andy hit it. It’s very very miniscule, and it might be a trick of my eyes, but i think it’s the closest of double bounces

I didn't awe a double bounce. Nit could also have been a double ir and the racket could have hit the table. MLTT needs ro do better on such calls and rules.

It was really tight. Either way one team was going to be unhappy

I have played similarly loops of half long balls many times, you can't blame a double bounce on the sound entirely especially when it came off the player's hand. And it wasn't that close, the ball.was going to come off, it was taking it early that created the sound.

All the drama aside, I do want to commend Andy Pereira for keeping his composure and winning the next point to force a Golden Point. Also, he was fantastic in the doubles match getting everything back. Florida traded Kaden Xu and a 2025 1st round draft pick to the Bay Area Blasters to get him. He never got to play a match for the Bay Area Blasters, and it's great to see him succeed in his debut as a Florida Croc.

I saw that Andy served a little bit on the table in that questionable point. I feel more and more players will serve on the table following WCQ.

Florida was robbed. A call shall only be overturned if there is clear and conclusive evidence in order to do so. The original call was no-call, and Adi lost the point by stopping it early and hitting it into the net. There was clearly no conclusive evidence to overturn.

This is similar to that questionable point at chine super league last year. But the players at MLTT handled it much better. Players at that China super league almost made it personally.
Much higher stakes in the CSL. And Florida probably recognizes that their playoff hopes are already gone so it hardly matters at this point.

If anyone wants to see what we're all taking about:

that ball was going to go off the table....
more than enough room to top spin the ball - both height and depth.
can't believe it could be judged as double bounce

I think this is who Vivarelli is but we will see. Without saying too much I think how Kou Lei is playing now is part of why Portland was willing to trade, on paper, one of the best players in the league.
Is it safe to say now that Vivarelli is terrible? 3-0'd today DECISIVELY by a mostly retired Rachel Sung. Horrible draft pick by Seattle's coach.

Path forward in Season 3 is clear for Seattle and Florida. Priority is to draft a new woman player. Ekholm is also simply not good enough especially in the Golden Game where nerves seem to always get the best of her.

Hope to win the lottery (pick #3) and that there is a very strong new player in the league at pick 3 to pair with the good players you have, clear house elsewhere. Too much dead weight on both of those rosters.

I was actually scared for Rachel after post game interviewer, Ozzie Chow, asked Rachel, "What was it that you thought Deborah did very well.."... I sure as heck would not have been able to come up with an answer.

First weekend on the job I believe...I'm sure he can learn from that mistake, especially to someone who isn't great in front of a camera like Rachel

She made Rachel look like prime Par Gerell.
