For those who didn't get a chance to watch it, the commissioner, Flint Lane, announced that NY and Atlanta will be the two expansion teams. Also, Seattle Spinners will move to LA and become the LA Spinners. They are also testing out cameras + AI software to enforce no hidden ball during the serve.
Gold Rush will need a new coach when Shigang takes over Atlanta..

Wonder if the Spinners will get put into the expansion draft with NY and ATL out of pity. They don't have a single player worth retaining except for Pistej who wants out, while other teams have 3-4 players worth retaining

With Chicago missing Lebesson, Bay Area has all but secured the second West playoff spot.

Comes down to Chicago and Princeton now to join Carolina from the east. Princeton has 16 points to make up but it is possible, will probably come down to the wire.

i didn't check how it works, and too lazy to go read the rules - i have a question

if each team retains all but 1,
that means 8 teams has 8 spots.
and then the 2 new team has full spots available.

so that means in the draft, the 8 teams each can pick once and finish, while the 2 new teams are drafting against each other around the 1st round of drafts?

I don't think the rules are publicly announced but each team can only retain up to 4 from Season 2 so the rest will become available in draft for the new teams first
that makes sense, as you need USA players for the 2 new teams.
the new "top players" inclusion is pretty strong, both male and female inclusions.
So the 2 new team are coming in at the right time

Yup, they will also be able to have first picks from the top players once the full draft starts I believe, and there are some very good players already in the draft

if the 2 new teams get the top players I know of that is going (so divide by 2 and each gets half). These are indeed very strong teams.

They will and we are probably thinking of the same two players (well, actually 3)

or 4? haha (1 female and 3 males)
but there are also some uncertain ones too, I didn't really go dig up outside the 4 I know.
I had a former top 20 that was "very close".
those players connected with MLTT directly, I merely just gave some advise. Some I told, don't bother and focus on Europe, and some I told go for it.

For semifinals, It is looking like a likely match up of Carolina vs Bay Area and Texas vs Chicago unless Princeton pulls a miracle on the final weekend.

If so, we probably have a final of Eugene-less Carolina and Amy-less Texas.
No Princeton miracle, so it goes as expected.

Bay Area will need two free agents and almost certainly lose the semi final to Carolina.

Bay Chicago and Texas will all be fighting for the free agent women so expect to see Jessica Reyes Lai and Tiffany Ke to make appearances again.

Carolina probably runs home with the title in Season 2.

Would discuss this over PM

How so? Bay Area have a potent 1-2 in Kim and Ma and Lily. as the Lady. With Eric and Tao as the other singles. They may not win, but they are not chopped liver, especially at the top.

Why will Texas not have Amy?

Qualifying for the World Cup via Pan Am Cup might have major implications on the MLTT Finals as the World Cup starts the day after the MLTT Finals.

Eugene, Jouti, Amy, Lily, and Mo Zhang are all on teams who might qualify and are all headed to Macao.
@NextLevel

I probably spam this thread a bit and just post whenever something comes to mind so this probably got buried

Correction - Bay Area won't need free agents as they have Kheith Cruz on the roster who will take Lily's place and then probably Lashin or Kaden stepping in.

Texas and Chicago will choose between Reyes Lai and Ke.

Mcbeath reached the final of the English nationals for the first time last week, i think playing in the MLTT has improved his level.
Imagine that! That said, I suspect he is playing in other high level leagues in Europe as well even if not necessarily in their first divisions.
