Lily Zhang losing to a veteran French proA chopper, far from World Rankings...

the gap between men and women is huge in the sport...

Zhang looks like she's never played against a chopper, she got schooled.

Imagine that! That said, I suspect he is playing in other high level leagues in Europe as well even if not necessarily in their first divisions.

the gap between men and women is huge in the sport...

On occasion there are male/female matchups. This can be advantageous if you have a strong female player on your team because your hope is that your female player wins at least one game and the other team's female loses all 3 games to your male player. De Santilan is a little bit higher in USATT rating, and Lily got a game from him in a bo3. In some cases, the female player has actually won the match such as Lily, Mo Zhang, and Kotomi Omoda beating their male opponents. It's all about playing levels [Edit:] and style matchups (especially with Mo Zhang).

yep, i noticed that

he played 6 singles, winning 3 and loosing 3

the last match was week 5 of the season, so probably before MLTT started

In reality,, Lily outperformed and won a game. Given her struggles against choppers, the expected result was 3-0 so winning a game was huge for her and well above expectations.

Mathieu is not Pro A level anymore, his level has dipped a bit recently, but still good enough to beat Lily. He may end up on another roster or none at all in Season 3, as I don't expect him to be one of the four players that Princeton keeps away from the re-draft.

For those who didn't get a chance to watch it, the commissioner, Flint Lane, announced that NY and Atlanta will be the two expansion teams. Also, Seattle Spinners will move to LA and become the LA Spinners. They are also testing out cameras + AI software to enforce no hidden ball during the serve.

Great! Another major league sports team to break ATLiens' hearts. 😂

Did they announce names for the two new teams? Pulling for the Atlanta "Lemon Peppers" 😁

Slightly underwhelming announcements but they are going to get some good players as the expansion teams in the draft

Great season ending team match between the Carolina Gold Rush and last season's winner, the Texas Smash. The Smash were without the services of Amy Wang due to the World Cup with Angela Guan as a free agent taking her place.

This should be an easy one for league leading Gold Rush, right? It started out that way with Enzo winning his singles match 2-1, Romain losing his singles 1-2 and Carolina winning the doubles 2-1. Current, US National Champion and one of the top females in MLTT was up next against Angela making her season debut. Should be an easy 3-0 or at worst 2-1 win for Hong Lin, right? It was not to be. She was a nervous wreck and could not make an effective attack to save her life. Much lower rated Angela Guan swept Hong Lin 3-0! Fortunately for the Gold Rush, Satoshi Aida showed why he's co-MVP. He sweeps Kasahara right back 3-0! Very close back and forth battle ensues in the Golden Game, but the Carolina Gold Rush take it 21-18 and with that the Carolina Gold Rush take the Season 2 championship.

Can't wait to see what the draft and Season 3 will bring!

That serve clock ref was unforgiving despite crowd cheering making it hard to get set in time for the next point. Many warnings just as players were about to serve. Romain even had a point penalty towards the end of a tight match against Nandan (but managed to win the last 6 points to take the game 11-9).
