I get it too.
My current approach to it is to remember 3 things when it happens:
- to breathe properly (deep breath but take longer on exhale, it reduces HR).
- remember what my tactics/strategy was before the game (usually notes etc if it's someone I've played before)
- stay positive and don't miss a good chance to attack because of nerves (don't change approach by sitting back and being cautious, waiting for opponent to just make a mistake).

I also slow things down a bit too when serving in those moments.
It helps me a lot, the nerves come but affect me less.

Deep breathing can male nervousness worse. That said, breath control is an important dimension of self-control and I would encourage anyone to study books about breathing like the Oxygen Advantage for insights into how to manage anxiety.

If your quoting my post I didn't just say deep breathing, I said longer on exhale to reduce HR. This does not make you more nervous
