It is the new HAL that he is using. Glad somebody already posted it. He tested about 20 blades sent to him this year by Xiom and finally he shifted to the HAL. He is very picky on the blade he uses and took him a very long time to shift to the HAL.

Thanks for your great insider information from you as always .

Just curious what are the average weight of Hugo HAL that Xiom sent him for testing and the one he is using now? Did he also change new rubber to something like better than Omega 7 China Ying/ Kuang *Pro Version*?

I have not asked about the weights or kinds of blades he tested. From what I know he is still using Omega 7 Pro with a different sponge hardness.

what is your experience best weight for Hugo HAL/ 36.5ALX ? When you say Omega 7 Pro, are you referring to the (Pro version Omega 7) specialist for him?

He is using a sponsored player's rubber. It is Omega 7 Pro but customized for him. I only tried 85 grams for each blade and they are both good enough.

Thanks for the information Based on on last night Bunlesliga Finale somehow I feel his forehand/backhand with new Hugo HAL seem less powerful and less heavy compare with his old wood/absolum off with xiom custom made blade. Sad that he and gauzy lost all the match, of cause Franziska & Shang Kun played very well too.

Dyjas also played very well. He won an "honor" point for Liebherr. Hugo maybe needs just more time to adapt to new gear. I bet when someone plays on such a high word class level it takes time to adapt all strokes with the new gear.

Yes strongly agreed Dyjas played really well and Hugo is now seem more consistent with his play and perhaps it does take times even for Pro like himself to fully adapt to his new gear. Hope to see Hugo Calderano come back who had previously beat FZD and Harimoto!

Since Hugo injured himself he didn’t return to his best level. He lost to Niwa, Gauzy, Karlsson (2x times)and Salifou. Before that was not so common to see him loosing to a non chinese player.

Yup, it just feel that he seem playing much better with Cornilleau rubber with more spin and power from both hand. At least Gauzy still play very well after change to Andro rubber and Gauzy SL off. Just Hugo can get back to the game again !
