Drinkhall/Walker 12:10 ML/LGY!!

The English pair plays a very simple tactic, by aiming for ML's wide FH and LGY's deep BH repeatedly to great success. 10:6, 10:9, England's TO, 10:12.

4:0, 4:3, 5:3, 5:4, 6:4, 6:6, 6:9, 8:9, China's TO, 8:11. What a shame! Another 8:11 sealed the fate.

OTOH, Harimoto/Kizukuri 7:11, 8:11, 8:11 JYS/LSS. Kizukuri is to blame.

Harimoto should play with Uda, he is a more promising young player.

Ito has always had trouble with styles similar to hers.

They should have won the second too!

I totally agree with you. Honestly, I thought ML was playing badly in the first two sets. It was pure luck ML/LGY won the second set. But in the last set, ML was returning to form, more of his shots were landing on the table.

Feng Tianwei handled Yoo pretty well. Wonder if it's because she's used to playing against BH serves, like Li Jia Wei from several years back if anyone else remembers haha.

Exactly - that second end was crucial, if PD and SW won that the pressure would of been huge on ML/LGY and that may have carried the Brits through. But as soon as they won the second there was only one winner for me. Good performance though.
