Apologies for not being able to do a poll (like I've seen others do).

Am I missing something really obvious??

Anyway..... The question is.

If you could get your name on the back of your table tennis shirt, what format would you get?

Option 1: T. Boll
Option 2: Boll
Option 3: Timo Boll

I like the attention to detail here haha. We go for full capitals in the TTD Team, so for us it would be: TIMO BOLL...

Talking of Timo, dam it's a shame we don't have Timo on our team :ROFLMAO:

Sometimes the issue is how long some peoples names can be as a long name won't fit fully on the back unless you go for small text. I think go for T. Boll in this instance as it will fit all names nicely 🏓

We are pretty much set on T. Boll format, just so it looks nice and neat!

Haven't you guys got your nicknames in there as well?

We aren't cool enough to pull that off 😅

Ooooo controversial! 😂

I thought that would be the least favorite!

We are kinda between 1 and 2 - But I thought I'd give 3 as another option!
Oh, sorry...

I just prefer to know someone's name when I watch them - nice to be able to identify them :)

Do you name Jim Morrison J. Morrison, Morrison, or... Jim Morrisson ?

If you wanna get fame, you have to have both 1st and last name on the shirt ! not only kidding, but also the fans and supporters love to call the players they like by their 1st name, so both. It's entertainement too, when I used to play music as a pro bassist, doing all the jobs possible in music (composing, arranging, artistic direction sometimes, mixing, mastering, concerts, teaching) i've always been told from the very beggining that you had to have both 1st and last name written on the credits, flyers, news articles and so on... it's always cool to have people cheering and calling you by your 1st or even nickname/surname when you entertain them and they get fun enjoying your performance.

I clearly need to be playing in your leagues!

If someone is watching me play (other than my team mates), it's because I've just given a big old "CHOOOOO LAYYYYY" (which is a once in a lifetime thing for me!) 😂

Option 4: Ma Long (First name last, last name first :p )

Also I don't think the poll feature is enabled? Tried the [poll] code but didn't show up as a poll
No no no: we're not all asian people, it's normal for asians to have their 1st and last name written this way, but the WTT should really stop calling western people like they do in China, it's disrespectfull. Here we name YUAN Jianan by her first name and her husband CHEN Tianyuan the same way, but their shirt respects their origins.

Timo Boll for me too. My last name is also an adjective, so it could get confusing to use only Boll, or T. Boll format

I don’t think WTT is the only one doing that, I watch F1 a lot and the commentators use last names more often than first names to identify the drivers. Also the timings on the screen all use last name abbreviations. btw, correct me if I’m wrong, if I’m “on a first name basis” with someone that means we’re familiar with each other, and if I’m showing respect to someone I’m not familiar with I use their last name, though that usually comes with a prefix of Mr. or Ms., but with the LGBTQ+ these days one can’t be sure what to add.

If the last name is REALLY long, then I go with First Letter of first name then the full last name.

That is my convention for the name.

I also prefer to include the country. eg:

Trouble Maker
USA

I also like to include the team, sometimes the country too

Trouble Maker
Team Tsos

or...

Trouble Maker
USA
Team Tsos

If this is for a club, I prefer the format of 1st name, last name and club underneath

eg:

Trouble Maker
Badd-Azz TTC

maybe the city underneath too if no one recognizes the club...

eg:

Trouble Maker
Badd-Azz TTC
Sufrragette City
