From a pure military standpoint, halting hostilities while advancing wouldn't make sense. Ukraine would first need to stabilize the front lines, which doesn't seem likely right now.

I'm curious, how do you guys see all this play out? After the 2023 summer counteroffensive that burned tons of human and material resources and still ended catastrophically... What's left, apart from trolling the Russians with drones?
We are not military, so we do not know their plans. And even if we did, we would not tell.

It is said that on 2.5.2014, in the building of the Trade Union House (in Kulik field) in Odessa officially 48 peaceful citizen were burned alive by Ukrainian nationalists.

I think that is what @jk1980 referred to.
latej, Yesterday you promised us not to say another word about politics :ROFLMAO:

Hmm, I don't think it is funny this time.

This is laughter through tears, because for some reason you remembered events that happened more than 10 years ago, but neither you nor any of you who defend the russian point of view, for some reason, does not mention last night's massive combined shelling of Kyiv, where russian missiles hit apartment buildings and killed and maimed more people than there was years ago in Odessa? And there was an even bigger massive shelling three days earlier, when even more people died. Why are you silent about this, and instead you drag all this russian propaganda here? What has changed in You since the time when You considered the 1968 invasion of russian tanks into your country an invasion?

You know, @latej, but Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen is actually much closer to the present day. You got an icicle in the eye, my Czech friend...

You're quick in accusing others about not speaking... Yet when we mention Iran, Palestine and other crimes, we are accused with "whataboutism"... So when in fact we try to present broader view, we are bad... Whatever we do, you will not agree... And that is the state right now, this prevents any progress and we shall die...

And your praising of your army, look, you're tough and brave, that's really outstanding... But russians don't use even a fraction of what they could, and probably will use on the Europe. So please don't live in illusions... Try to make real peace.

Again, accusing, accusing, accusing... You know there is even a proverb about it.
