Stiga Infinity VPS V

Hi guys, I recently just purchased(today actually) a Stiga Infinity VPS V out of impulse because I watched Dan's review lol. I was just wondering what rubbers would suit it? Anyone who owns one can you please shed some light on it? I was thinking maybe Stiga Airoc S for the backhand and maybe Rasant or Stiga Airoc M for the forehand.

You play with viscaria with 05 at this moment and want to go to infinity with airoc s? Huge, huge difference :S
Infinity is much slower and the airoc s isn't fast as well. Go with airoc m .

I now play with the Infinity together with Airoc M on both forehand and backhand and it works like a charm, Airoc S is a really good backhand rubber so I think that should work great to!

The Infinity works better for me, the emerald is a really great blade which I also like but it was just a bit to fast for me.

I have an Infinity blade as well and although it is a nice blade, the speed and performance is way different compared to Viscaria. Switching just doesn't make sence.
If he (or she) does want to use the Infinity, then try it at least first with 05.

Impulse is great when it comes to our hobbies! Follow your instinct! I think the rubbers you are considering will work fine with the blade. Just give it time...

It was on special! I got it for only $50 AUD!!! I love my Viscaria, this will be a second setup just to try out... Thanks guys, I am replacing the tenergys on my Viscaria net week so I might wait and see what Tenergy on the VPS V is like...

You will lose some speed, but will gain a lot more on control. I think it is a very nice combination. (I played T80 on Infinity and it was fun playing)

Hi Sam next week try using your old sheet of t05 on infinity.. there is a marked decrease in speed, more control but you will be needing to throw more power on a mid table distance rally attacks.. so you have to weigh all of that vs your playing style. Goodluck keep us updated.

Viscaria/To5 is great fun but not suitable for most

Viscaria +T05 is a fantastic combination for advanced players. It has a very narrow range of operability, that is, the player has to get his stroke just right to be able to get the speed, spin and placement that he wants from his stroke. This means that only advanced players who are physically very fit can really play properly with it.
The vast majority of users, in my opinion, are fooling themselves.
And sorry to say this, but posters who blindly recommend this combination without knowing the individual player's abilities are giving bad advice.
The Infinity is a simple marketing ploy to re-ignite the market with a class of blade that was used by most world champions until very recently. The fact that ZJK and Co use Viscaria type blades does not mean that it will suit the average player. Infinity, I believe, is far more suitable for the vast majority of players.

Received my blade yesterday, it weighed in at 89 grams the same as my viscaria. I glued T05fx to the bh and just regular rasant on the fh both in 2.1mm. Upon first striking the ball this blade feels immensely solid and secure in my hand compared to my composite blades but the story is the same, really good blade close to the table and mid distance but hard to make kill shots while looping away from the table. I feel this blade is quite stiff so I am going to purchase a softer rubber for the bh, one thing that amazed me with this blade is the control and spin on service flicks... All in all a good blade for the money.

Sounds like you had the same experience as I did. Blade is suitable for close to the table topspin attack play, but it lacks power in mid distance.
High level of control and (for me) 80FX on my BH was great for blocking.

In a few days I receive a Xiom Vega Pro blade and will try P7 rubbers on this blade and the Infinity. Let's see how the Infinity handles the P7
