I understand :) . What I am trying to say is give it a few years and your feeling will change :p
ttmonster, I understand well that his style is not easy to play at all and I appreciate his techniques. I have respect for all kinds of styles, for one-sided penholders, long range defenders, pimple hitters etc. I just personally find aggressive attackers the most inspirational one.

Samsonov and Primorac are great models for older players who want to still play offensive TT.

gmiller, Jimmy is about 6'4" so not quite as tall as you. He gets really low, even in his 40s, and his BH is so good it is pretty hard to attack his middle, at least when he has been practicing.

I think that germans Steffen Mengel (195cm) and Patrick Franziska are two the tallest in Top100, they are both over 190cm.

Thanks for posting Steffen Mengel. What a great reference

I've read about him and I saw the piece Larry Hodge wrote about tall players mentioning him but I hadn't had a chance to look Watch any of his matches until now. Do you know him or play with him?

Ok I'm up to speed with Jimmy's story. Wow what a story it's is, and man does he have a good back hand.

It's insane. he plays at my club so I have been on the other side of it a few times. So fast, so low, and one tends to block it into the net, and at my level, impossible to predict where it is going. Of course, I am not a professional player. Still, the one thing about him I notice is he uses the thing to protect his middle really well.

He also has amazing abilities to defend and fish.

Found this thread about tall players. So an update on the tallest one:)

Medardas Stankevicius from Lithuania was 196 cm at 15(!) years old and was one of the top players in EU at his age. Not sure about his current height, he is 17 at the moment, so he can end up around 2 meters I guess.

Some matches from ETTC:

Chris Doran is very tall; 2 metres I would guess, maybe a bit more. Take a look at him play when he stands close to the table - the table only comes slightly above his knees!

Samsonov of course among the best, But really enjoy Eun's game as well. Just a pretty good look at two taller player facing off who possess a similar game.
