My bottle of rev 3 is almost empty, and I think with tarriffs and whatnot, I am done paying extra for watery glue with a TT brand on. So the question is: better to buy a cheap bottle of tearmender water-based glue, or an even cheaper bottle of rubber cement?

I don't play tournaments for years, so don't need to hear about rules, boosting etc. Don't care.

My setup is Nittaku carbon with T19 and yasaka antipower. Would rubber cement totally eff up the anti?

Somebody has tested these alternatives, please spill what you know.

Well if you're anything OX you can't use rubber cement.

But I've used rubber cement on all my sponged rubbers for years. Easy to work with, fast, easy clean-up (as in there's nothing to do or pick off) if you ever pull them, would pass any test after a number of days if they test for that so that's not a concern.

Thanks suds. Not 0X so should be fine.

Do you use Elmer's, or gorilla - those seem to be the prominent Walmart brands?

Elmers. There's a somewhat larger bottle you can get at Walmart. Will last quite a while. I want to say it's around 6 bucks or something like that. Can't go wrong.

FYI after seeing your original post, I just glued on Butterfly Super Anti to my RPB side (for passive blocks and the occasional chop. I'm primarily a TPB guy with inverted). Anyways, working on that is no different from any other sponged normal attacking rubber.

Thin layer on the blade, thin layer on the rubber. Put it on. If you ever pull the rubber at some point in the future. It'll look exactly the same as it did before you ever applied glue in the first place.

Now technically rubber cement ever so slightly expands the sponge but it's so very small, it's basically nothing. Not like you're boosting or anything and doesn't change the way the rubber plays. You're good to go.

Only slightly? When using two or more layers of Fixogum https://www.marabu-creative.com/en/...-rubber-cement-display-10-x-50-g-29010010000/ or good, old, original speed glue https://kis.rema-tiptop.net/catalog...0=1&GLS1=11&GLS2=2&GLS3=4&PLS0=2&API0=5050196 my rubbers expand quite a bit (takes a couple of hours until they are flat again). Nice quick, not too strong effect when I want to have some fun ;)

Interesting. Must be the difference in the product.

I'm telling you from the Elmers I've ever applied. I see no visible difference in rubber expanding. And when I glue on & cut, I've never experience the rubber shrinking or pulling back. It's always stayed right at the edge where I cut it. So for me, it's essentially zero change.

I use liquid Latex Rubber. In Germany, often called Latex Milch (Milk). As far as I can tell, that's the same stuff as waterbased glue, with ammonia smell. The bottle I bought was very thick, I thinned it with a bit of distilled water.
Servus,
Where did you buy Latexmilch? In crafty store (Bastelladen) or hardware store (Baumarkt) the latex milk is as expensive as tt glue.. so i am not really saving money buying it there.

On eBay i found them for cheaper, but they have low and high viscosity (dick- oder dünnflüssig). Do you know which one did you get?

Jeah I bought some on eBay. I bought dickflüssig and thinned it a little bit with some distilled water. To me it ist exactly the same as wtb glue.
