I knew NL would like this!
[Emoji23]

But again:
Making someone "lose his face" can be pretty dangerous in certain areas of this lovely planet!
One just doesn't do this!

There is a difference between showing credentials and losing face.

Someone on that thread said they would rather take information from someone because they have no idea how good or bad the person is than to know the level and know it is a realistic level.

I would rather know the person's level, particularly when I know they are hiding their skill as a coach or as a player.

These days Brett doesn't look like a great player. I could be fooled to think he isn't a very good player pretty easily. He even does great imitations of mistakes. But I can see he is a good coach who is older.

Hiding information is hiding information. I am okay if we disagree on this Suga. But I am presenting the downside of INTERNET ANONYMITY. And we know it already from various trolls who for one reason or another pretend they are something they are not.

Do you really think it is okay for someone presenting himself as a coach to hide behind a facade? What would the reasoning be that you would explain this actually being okay?

This might even be correct, but i think it's only a very thin line between the both and some guys really took it a bit too far for my taste.
Especially the dude that came up with his conclusions and accusations has been revealing not very good manners.

Suga, you are right that some people were not behaving well. I think that was on both sides of the issue.

There was one little fool who doesn't know how to keep his mourn shut about things he is consistently guilty of himself. We all know Archo has some weird defect that causes him to talk out of the wrong orifice. If his showing himself a hypocrite and a rude fool gets under your skin, ignore the guy.

For the record, I don't care what EmRatThich's level or skill in coaching is. But, as far as I am concerned, the risk that Internet Anonymity carries with it and how simple the transparency of presenting your credentials is, to me says that when someone has gone that far out of his way to hide his identity, while trying to BUILD HIS REPUTATION on the Internet, then looking into the issue has some value to the whole ENTIRE internet community.

That is a big picture issue.

And the only thing I have heard on the pro-side of someone like EmRat keeping his anonymity goes something like this: "If you don't like the info, don't follow it."

And I am sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, that is an avoidance of the issue. Not an answer.

But if someone can give an actual answer why someone presenting himself as a coach to the entire worldwide web should be able to keep anonymity and not show credentials all while trying to make money off the internet, I am happy to listen.

Yes, a YouTube profile that draws enough viewers can make money from advertising the way Dan makes money off the advertisements on TTDaily.

In a response to me EmRat says:

You are right that these principles are not news for the pro players. I didn't say it is new in my tutorial video.

And yet, in the video it says:

"It is not new to Chinese coaches. However, not many western coach or player do not know the truth behind it."

So it is not news. And people know it. But just nobody in the west in spite of the fact that everyone who told it to me is in the west. Which is it.

That is more of that kind of avoidance.

The funny part is that when my honest videos show up, people then use them to say that I have no clue what I am talking about. Maybe if I had posted anonymously, I would be a 2500 legend. Shuki's signature is a work of genius.

I think the fact that people can't recognize at least a certain amount of your ability from the numerous videos you post regularly, says more about the people commenting than your ability.

NL, your experience and level is important. But you've contributed enough that it is obvious where you are coming from. Most times you refer to the source as supporting evidence for the information and advice that you pass on.
Way to go, in my opinion.

I agree and your points do make sense but then again my granny taught me this:
If you can't say anything nice about someone, then might as well say nothing at all...

And that's basically it.
And all these hateful comments just ain't necessarily so IMHO.

Suga, if you mean this then you have some explaining to do about a bunch of posts with expletives and perhaps you need to show that you can say something nice about Archo!

I am glad he gets what I said about him and I think he is basically a good kid who likes to get in the middle of these things but doesn't get what his boundaries are. Perhaps he does, after the fact, get why he has no business in this discussion. But he does put his foot in his mouth and cause problems.

But, if you are saying that you shouldn't say anything unless you can say something nice then perhaps practicing what you preach is in order.

As far as me, I have said plenty of things that are positive about EmRat while explaining why the anonymity is a problem and that the issue is a PRINCIPLE, not simply something small.

The two issues I have with EmRat is that there are so many things he says are "Chinese" secrets that the west does not know AND THIS IS NOT TRUE. And he has gone so far out of his way to make sure he is not in any of his videos that many people are confused and think the old man is the Asian girl in his publicity photo.

I have said that many of the pieces of information he has posted are useful information. But they are not the "Chinese Secrets" he is claiming them to be. And IN All of the videos I have seen by him, the information could be condensed into videos that are all under 1 min long.

1) use your hips and torso to loop. 3 second video.

2) hold racket relaxed with index finger and thumb, and apply pressure on impact. 30 second video.

By the way did you notice how many photos of Timo Boll he used to demonstrate that "Chinese" principle.

Carl, the way I see it, there is no need to be egoistic and try to make up for my stupid posts.

You're right: I probably should not be posting the way I was posting here in this thread. It's not very appropriate. I should also not be insulted by someone calling me a fool or whatever else if it's in my best interest: and that I did figure out!

The reason I am posting this is so that people who read your posts and mine at least understand how I think about them. Lest fingers start being pointed, and stupidity ensues.

While I know you're insulting me, and it'd probably be normal to be insulted, this is too funny to get mad at.

As far as this, I am glad you get what I am saying and realize where it is coming from, but you really should learn to keep out of things when you are still falling into those same patterns and actually seem completely unable to form a valid opinion of your own on the subject. Your parroting of things that have been told to you really does come off as making you look really bad and totally annoying. So there is a real reason why someone like Suga D lost his cool with you.

So, I would say you should probably learn how to apologize when you are out of line. In fact, if I was you, I would apologize to Suga and the whole forum.
