Hello everyone! Every since my Stiga Infinity broke i have been sealing my blade with all diffirent kinds of sealing: Here are i.m.o. the best ones.
Material used:
Sanwei Fextra 7, Dhs h3n
Xiom i-sure: Under €10, Super easy to apply, Just go with the grain and all good. A bit expensive. Makes the blade significantly stiffer, 0% chance to splinter and only have to reaply once.
Butterfly
Tibhar clean coat: Under €15, Same way to aply, just go with the grain and all good. Slightly stiffer feeling, still has nice soft limba feeling. Wont splinter.
Hair spray extra hard: Yes you heard me, this is probably the best way to varnish your blade. By far the cheapest. Just spray it on and take a cloth and make a even layer, only 2 layers per side. After you remove the rubbers you should do one layer again. No change in feeling at all, slightly heavier but a lot less then any "professional sealer" This hairspray methode wont protect from water but wont splinter a blade. I'd stay away from anything that says "sticky" hairspray.
Hopefully this helps
ask away if you want to know more
