Why do most Pros, especially Chinese, only use Viscaria or HL5?

I see that overwhelmingly most pros use either Viscaria (or similar) blade or HL5 (or similar) blade.

How come nobody likes "in between" blades? Blades that sacrifice some power for dwell time or vice versa?

There is a fairly wide range of blades between the properties of Vis and HL5, but I haven't seen players use anything in between.

You say "or similar" but aren't those blades the ones you're asking about in the first place? Pros use what is comfortable /and/ effective/competitive, thats why you don't see attackers using blades like P Korbel anymore, Viscaria/W968 are just that good

The type of blades I'm thinking about are something like:

DHS 301 or Sanwei 75 inner, Koto with inner fibre structure
HL5x, thick core inner structure

A lot of custom pro blades are like their respective market versions but with thicker core so I don't think thick core inner structure blades are as uncommon as you might suspect, and both Truls and Lind are using koto inner blades so it can't be said that no players prefer it.

That being said I think koto inner suits a more specific taste that not everyone has. They don't have the arc or hold like limba inner nor are they as direct or as aggressive as koto outer, the ones I've tried are kind of neither here nor there. I can't speak for others but I'd rather have a product that does specific things really well even if there is some expense to be paid in other areas, rather than a product that does more things well but not nearly as well as the more specialized product
